Reach Studios is a brand new game studio based in Sydney, Australia (with staff worldwide) and is looking for talented game programmers/engineers to join our team.

We are currently in pre-production for an open-world RPG title. While there is not much more detail that can be provided here, all staff (must be willing to sign/agree to an NDA) will be given access to our Game Development Document and bible documents with all the backstory and information necessary for work to be done on our title.

This is a team with big ambitions, particularly in the publishing of our title. Should milestones pass, there is a possibility for work to shift to mainstream console releases (X360/PS3/PC). We're a new studio but a studio with previous professional experience in the videogame industry.

Of course, should development pass these milestones and move to the much larger project that we anticipate, staff will be paid for their efforts. As for now however, we're in baby-step mode with our eyes set on the goal.

We are seeking a Lead Engineer at Reach Studios. This lead programmer/engineer will lead the programming team in determining the best way to technically achieve the goals necessary for this game to work and function as intended, and to liaise with the creative staff to investigate the feasibility of gameplay ideas.

As the project is in pre-production, the role will involve firstly determining how to approach the development of the project and with his/her programming team will choose a game engine to prototype on. If the project increases then there will be the possibility of a semi- to full- proprietary engine being developed and potential candidates should be aware of this.

As this is a volunteer role (at least for the beginning parts of production), full-time is not expected, but you are expected to keep weekly contact with the rest of the team on your progress.
