miHoYo was founded in 2012 by three Shanghai Jiaotong University graduate students who shared a passion for technology and ACG (anime, comics, and games) culture. These otakus formed what has become not just a game company, but an original IP creator with its own anime, manga, light novels, music, and more that expand upon the engaging worlds and stories of games. Besides producing ACG content, miHoYo also is a tech-driven company, even developing its own proprietary rendering technology.
