Greetings,

My name is Mikael and in may last year I decided that it was time to learn and create my own RPG game. The reason for this was that I as an experienced rpg/mmo gamer was so annoyed with how easy many games have become these last years. This lead me to start creating my own game (without any prior knowledge). The game is a high fantasy game that starts in a little village named Ashenby which will transition into an epic story with many chapters. We want to bring back the challenge when you play a RPG game and we also want to try get close to the old pen and paper roleplaying feelings. So the handhold will be minimal and the consequences of your choices will have a huge impact in-game.

You can read more about the game here:

Initially I was using a framework for the game to ease things for me when it comes to the lack of coding. However many things have changes since that. We got an excellent coder onboard and due to this we decided to scratch the framework and build things on our own instead to not be limited to what the framework itself could provide.

Our current coder has been working with the ability system and status effect system as well as an excellent saving system with so much flexibility that it will fit perfect to our needs. Now we are getting into a more intensive phase where we feel that another coder would truly help to speed things up.
So what we currently need is a person with good knowledge in Unity/C# and gamemaking in general. Your focus would be with the gameplay stuff, so our other programmer can focus more on the engine things like the AI (which we have a VERY interesting idea and approach for).

Currently the team consists of 3 people. I myself, working with the level design and core system. Matt which is our programmer and Jimmy who is currently doing quests and background stories but will also do some scripting.
How do I look at your role? Well for me you will have an integral part of the game design, your input will be very much considered and valued. Your will start of working with gameplay elements.

What I would see very beneficial is experience in following: UI Core Gameplay Network experience is not a requirement but is valued.

I think we have come pretty far especially considering that I have been very new to this myself. I also think that I have achieved a graphical look of the game that I am happy with (still learning new stuff every day, so there are always improvements that can be made).

Since this is a project that's being created with my own money that I can afford then the budget is limited. What I can offer though is a partnership deal that we can discuss in further detail when we come to that point. I have of course a plan for how the game should be released and I have also reviewed other games that are similar but not as well built and how their sales have been to get an idea on what would be a low estimate of sales when the game is released.

Worth saying is that we will NOT rush this game, the quality is of much more importance. Especially since we are planning to release this as several episodes, so having a well made product in the first place is of utter importance.
