Not only paying tribute to the 2001 legendary video-game Return To Castle Wolfenstein, but also and more importantly to industry icon Drew Markham (the director of the game itself, who has unfortunately passed away on May 6th, at the age of 59), the Return to Castle Wolfenstein™ 17th Anniversary Event is a complete throwback in time for nostalgic fans of the series!

Yesterday was the 17th anniversary of Return To Castle Wolfenstein in Europe. To celebrate this achievement, 85 Prøductions held a live celebration event on YouTube. Sponsored by WolfWatch, the Return to Castle Wolfenstein™ 17th Anniversary Event is a tribute movie presented in real-time by original game's character Karl Villigut, voiced by Cody Fleming, who also voices characters in Castle Wewelsburg, The Dark Army: Uprising and The Dark Army: Downfall.

This event was first announced by 85 Prøductions, who held similar but way shorter (and simpler) events in the past few years, on November 19, 2017, day of the 16th anniversary of the release of Return To Castle Wolfenstein in North America. It was officially revealed on September 12 of this year, through a remastered version of the E3 2001 trailer of the game. Initially announced to air on November 19, day of the 17th anniversary of the game's release in North America, it was eventually postponed to yesterday, November 30, day of the 17th anniversary of the release in Europe, due to scheduling and editing constraints — and as a result of unexpected compiling issues, the live celebration movie ultimately aired only earlier today.
