I hope you can enjoy all the mods at once like I am now!

Let me know if you see any items with the wrong icon.

Hey all good so far, except the Shotgun Scopes and Boomsticks and Sharpsticks are still clashing slightly. If I put one addon in favor of the other on even with the compatibility patch you've created, the descriptions of one or the other's content gets erased and goes to the code of the weapon for both title and description. Kind of immersion breaking but no doubt you can fix it! :)

EDIT: I merged the English item descriptions, they're included as an optional file in the archive for v1.2. Enjoy!

Ah. As I mentioned in the description this compatibility patch is only for the item icons at the moment. This means you can use both mods together without blank or missing icons - it makes no script changes in those other add-ons.

I'll try to merge the item descriptions. I can't guarantee other issues won't occur between these two mods, though.

Getting this now... Can't run S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Anomaly :(

Will have to play Beasts of Bermuda until you fix this somehow... :)

Starting engine...

EDIT as of 01:45AM: Managed to replace your patch attempt with Boomsticks' st_weapons_items_weapons.xml so can play again for now, just keep tinkering with the file dude, I'm sure you'll figure out what's gone wrong with the compatibility patch. :) Other wise, so far, it's great work this!

Ah. Yep, there was an XML tag in the wrong place. This has taught me to run XML through a validator before I upload a release :)

It's fixed in v1.3 - Give it a go! And thanks!

Not a problem my dude, will download and install now. :) Will let you know how it goes my mate.

EDIT as of 03:05AM: All good dude, it all checks out right. Descriptions and titles are showing for all shotguns/rifles etc, that are from Boomsticks and Shotgun Scopes. Thanks again for this cool addon dude, been waiting for something like this for a while! Many thanks again man! Peace! :)

I didn't realize this when I created the patch, but Vivid Colors & Icons v1.2 already has this merged in:

Moddb.com

"UPDATE v1.2: Included compatibility for HD Icons, updated compatibility for SS&S 4.3"

I'll update the mod description to include it. Thanks for pointing that out!

Great work! Glad that someone merged the different addons icons! Particularly for my trader Overhaul (Then again, that is an optional file for mine).

Does this patch make it so that Boomstick & Sharpstick weapons use magazine systems or are they still loaded like in the old Stalker system?

This doesn't change anything with the mod's scripts, so probably not. This patch just allows you to use the two mods together without missing/blank icons.

Where can I find this "HD icons"?

The original mod is here:

Moddb.com

In the original zip file for Vivid Colors & Icons, the 'HD Icons' directory includes this as an optional add-on. I just integrated the Trader Overhaul Outfits and Magazines add-ons into it.

I have 1 more questions... I have to install "HD Icons" first before this addons right?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+4 votes

If it makes you feel better you can go ahead and install the HD Icons addon first, but you shouldn't need to. That addon is primarily a new ui_item_equipment.dds, which is the same file this patch provides.

The HD Icons addon does also have tweaked config files for the novice and berill/army outfits, but if you are using the new outfits from Trader Overhaul Complete those would be overwritten anyways.

I have no idea why that would be the case. Are you using a HUD/UI resize mod, i.e. for 4k?

Moddb.com

I think that's the only thing that messes with the UI.

Resolution is set at 1920x1080

Edit: Sorry, as said below by guest, I'm also borderless usually use DX9 or DX10.

It does the same to me. I have tried to install anomaly into a fresh folder and only installing this mod and it still does it.

I have not touched the settings on this install at all other then the resolution which is 1920x1080 borderless windowed on directx 11

I think I might have found the culprit. I've just updated the add-on to v1.1, could you please download and try the new release and let me know if the issue is still present?

Thanks!

P.S: If this fixes the problem for you, the issue was that the original upload was exported with DXT1 texture compression with mipmaps and it should have been DXT5 without mipmaps.

Can someone Tell me the install order i always fuckup and tend to end up with no textures for Anomoly mags at the end, also i don't use SS&S and B&S

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes

I'm not positive that this is the correct order, and as mentioned above you may still have a compatibility issue between SS&S and B&S with the item descriptions. But I believe this order should work:

1. Install Shotgun Scopes & Sights and Boomsticks & Sharpsticks in whatever order you want.
2. (Optional) Install New Item and Armor Icons/HD Icons.
3. Install Trader Overhaul Complete.
4. Install Anomaly Magazines.
5. Install this patch - There is no need to install Vivid Colors & Icons on it's own.

Please keep in mind, all of these are optional and you don't actually need ANY of these mods to use this add-on. It'll give you better icons even if you only have the base game, just like Vivid Colors & Icons did.

Is there an issue with the inventory icon or the weapon model itself? If it's the weapon model, I can't do anything about that as this compatibility patch is currently only for item icons.

Can you please post a screenshot?

Yeah, the hellhound outfit is straight up 425,000 Rubles so there's that. So I can see why he's broke here.

I think in my install it's a little cheaper, I usually play at the default cost values.

I also tweaked the configs so Duty sells it in addition to the Military traders, so I'm a dirty cheater :D

As Chevyfreak sez, a really useful mod, default icons are dark with little contrast. Yours are bright and colorful. The smaller icons indicating health, repair, etc. are super helpful. Still sorting out the inventory menu, but your mod helps a lot. Thank you for the hard work.

Yes. Well, almost. 5.45mm AK mag looks like pistol mag, after adding it to loadout there is blank icon for it.
And steel mag for 7.62 has orange bakelite mag icon. That's what i discovered so far.

Thanks for giving this a try!

This patch is just a merger of the one major sprite sheet all of these mods share to create a compatibility patch for all of them - I don't design the item icons. The issues you're describing are leftovers from what WAS the newest version of Anomaly Magazines at the time, which I used to put this patch together. I believe newer versions of Anomaly Magazines have icons for new magazines in some of the same places as the other mods. This means they can no longer be merged without changing config files in the mods to change the X and Y positions of the sprites they call - doing that is a lot more involved (especially over time as the mods change)compared to creating a sprite layer for each mod and merging them into one sprite sheet.

On top of that, I unfortunately have no plans to update this mod any longer as I just don't have the time. If you're not busy and don't mind keeping up with changes to six different mods to maintain this patch, you're welcome to take over where I left off.
