Variable Ambient Music addon implements a playlist-based soundtrack in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
In general, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and mods (including Call of Chernobyl) have 2-3 music tracks assigned per level. While the default soundtrack is pretty awesome, this might get quite stale after some time. So, the goal of this addon is to create a custom, varied but coherent soundtrack to enhance the eerie atmosphere of the Zone.
Variable Ambient Music includes 36 different tracks for a total of 02:42 hours of music. Based mostly on Dead Air, with a few tracks from older versions of MISERY sprinkled on top. Most of them were converted to a more manageable size, then distributed into 4 playlists:
- Day "normal" - calm/sombre music that plays in levels such as Great Swamps or Cordon (10 tracks).
- Day "north" - slightly creepier music that plays in levels such as Red Forest or CNPP (10 tracks).
- Night - ominous music shared between all ground levels (12 tracks).
- Underground - eerie music for levels such as Jupiter Underground or the X-Labs (4 tracks).
Playlists pick tracks at random. I excluded any tracks that I felt stood out too much in terms of mood, or featured annoying noises. I also adjusted their volume to be uniform in-game to the best of my ability.
Tested and working in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat, Call of Chernobyl 1.4.22, and Anomaly. Should work with most CoC-derived mods and doesn't interfere with any addons that don't change ambient music.
noice
Is it copyrighted? Because then it isn't good for my recording. But overall, very nice mod, I feel like it took a awhile to get all these tracks and then mod them into the game
this is by far the best mod i encounter!
this mod made me feel like im playing stalker with updated music and stuff
great work 10/10!
Works with old saves?
