Description

This is a 32 map megawad for Doom 2. It is more for the veteran type players as the skill level required is similar to Plutonia. Please read the text file included for any further information and of course; enjoy. :)

Isn't a MAP04 is just "WormHole" that is from "TNT: Evilution"? D:

Yes it is, as I stated in the text file , I combined my own maps with a group of my favorite official maps. I did not change much structurally, however I did change quite a bit with textures and entity spawns.

Seeing as you only credit the original authors without their permission in modifying and using their work in the first place plus the maps you got from TNT are paid work too that you're passing off as free, this is quite disrespectful to the map authors themselves.

I appreciate your point of view however, I disagree. Firstly I would like to remind of the hundreds of wads out there that have used the original maps as a bases for their own work and in some cases complete overhauls of those original works. Here we are nearly thirty years later and I have released a wad with some of my personal favorites not out of disrespect, but in fact as a point of respect. This is why I did not change much in those maps because I wanted to keep the aesthetics in which the original authors intended. Secondly the attempt to gain permission for the maps I used was in fact acted on. After three months I received no reply. I do not know anyone in the gaming industry and do not have those personal resources. Absolutely no disrespect is intended and I take no credit for myself concerning maps which are not mine. It was intended to be a solute to those authors. The question I have for those who play this wad is,'did you have fun playing it?'. Thank you again for your view.

I appreciate that you gave out a civilized reason at least, unlike so many people who lose their heads even over a single valid criticism nowadays.

Hi. Super fun maps. I like your originals and have enjoyed the work of others that you've augmented. However, I'm now experiencing a segmentation violation on map25. when I try to open the second door (exiting blood room), it crashes to desktop. I'm running it on Doomsday 2.0.3. Any thoughts? thanks!

I have never tested the wad with doomsday. I will download it and run through some tests to see if it errors for me and then maybe I can help. GZDoom, Zandronum and doom 95 were the ports which were used for testing.
I will get back to you as soon as I am able to identify the problem.

Hi again Dogfart; I tested the offending map with doomsday 2.0.3. and it did the same thing to me. When I searched through some forums I found that the error is quite common with doomsday. I also noticed when I loaded up a map it gave warnings for missing texture flats which I have never seen before. Not in the editor or in any of the other ports I have used. I then downloaded doomsday 2.3.2-build3869 which is the latest version I can locate to date. The exact same error occurred. When I searched through the error text I could not find any offending function. It purely says 'segmentation violation', no other information. Maybe because there is a tricked out group of brushes in that map which give the illusion of a bridge which can be accessed from above and below. It uses multiple lines and sectors to pull it off. My only suggestion is to skip that map and give yourself some weapons and ammo in the next map. Another alternative could be to use a tested port such as GZDoom. I am sorry if this has ruined the momentum of the wad. I do know how frustrating that is.

Thank you so much for your quick reply and thorough investigation! No worries. I'll skip it. I'll also give GZDOOM a try.

Am i stupid or do you need to get the red key to get the yellow key but can't because you need the yellow key to get the red key. First map. Never really played hardcore doom mods before.

Getting the red key opens the area so you can get the yellow key. You do not need the yellow key to get the red key you just need to open the door in the outside area which enables you to go down the elevator to get the red key. It's only a mild puzzle. I also would suggest that you save before you pick up any key.... if you're not familiar with hardcore wads. :)
