Description

This is a Single Player Experience for the Quake 3 engine which does not have any MP or bot support! There is no need for any special MOD, you just need a patched (1.32b) version of Q3. The map is designed for people that like to explore maps, solve puzzles and enjoy some nice eye candy. If you get stuck or wants some hints please check my website for further details.

Tried to play it, but I got a Hunk_alloc error.

The map requires the memory to be changed so that it loads. Here is the text from the readme file and detailed description above.

If the map fails to load with the follow error message ERROR: Hunk_Alloc failed then you need to change the memory amount using the following console command: '/com_hunkmegs 96'. After typing the command, restart the game and load the map again.

Also check the readme file for other hints and tips on how to get the map working and fine tune the HUD.

10/10. As I'm very lazy to rewrite my opinion, I'll just copypaste. :P

I miss maps with this kind of creativity. Maps which compose the 10% of the Sturgeon's Law which makes a game worthy enough to be played. I wish I could be able to do maps like this, my mapping knowledge is pretty limited. Nothing more to say. 10/10.
PS: It took me a while to find all the switches. :P
PS2: Hoping for Part 2, if possible.

Thank you very much for the compliment and I am glad you enjoyed the map, but there are no plans for part 2. It started life as an experiment into 3D scripting, but I soon realized it was a crazy thing to do with such a limited engine.

Thanks for the reply.
I've also read your article about 3D Puzzle Logic. It's pretty neat. I wonder how well it would work with a "how to play" tutorial level. I'm mapping for another IdTech3 based project where we keep Q3A's gameplay and we need something like that. Any advices?

I would recommend you create proper set of game logic entities to use in your project. The original Q3 engine has many limitations with entity types and quantities, it really is fine tuned for MP gameplay mechanics only.

So, since there are no bots, is this a pure puzzle map or did you implement some basic monsters?
