This is one part of Back to the Roots. This part contains only the world textures. It can be combined with "Back to the Roots - Models" or used alone.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly: Back to the Roots - World
Updated to be compatible with Anomaly Repack 1.3.x and split into separate world & model changes.
You have a lower spec PC that can't run Anomaly? Or you prefer the looks of Call of Misery based mods? But you still want to play with all the improvements in Anomaly and its 64 bit engine?
I got you covered, Back to the Roots - World replaces all world textures in Anomaly with the original files that came with Last Day. So the game world will look like Last Day but behave like Anomaly.
You can keep playing existing saves when you are installing or uninstalling Back to the Roots, so it's easy to give it a try and remove it again if you don't like it.
Installing
- Make sure you are using Anomaly Repack, it won't work with older versions of Anomaly
- Install at least Update 1.3.1 and start the game once, you can quit when the main menu shows up
- Unpack Back to the Roots on top of Anomaly Repack
- Check the settings menu to see the new performance presets
Uninstalling
- Delete all files in "db\updates" that have file names starting with "xtra-bttr-"
- If you want to change which parts of Back to the Roots you are using, it's recommended to delete all BttR files first and then install only the parts that you want to use
Potential problems
- Back to the Roots might still have some issues that were not found during testing, please report them on the support board of the forum
Performance presets
These only apply if you use the Last Day world textures from Back to the Roots, either with Last Day models or with Anomaly models!
- 8GB RAM / 3GB VRAM
- 8GB RAM / 2GB VRAM
- 4GB RAM / 2GB VRAM
- 4GB RAM / 1GB VRAM
I confused... I extracted the back to the roots world and models files to my Anomaly directory but I am experiencing a crash in the load menu after creating my character. BTW I am using DirectX10 and settings to the lowest.
this is exactly what I looking for. my pc can handle textures but I don't like green textures. I like darker. thanks bro good job !
Helped with fps drop in 1.4 had to replace xtra-bttr-logic.db0 file with the one from back to the roots model addon to stop it from crashing when loading save.
This addon is a must. Regular feels way too colorful and bright. This brings back the zone.
when will you update it to 1.5 ?
is compatible with 1.5.0 beta 2.4 ?
1.5.0 Beta 2.4 Compatible?
I'm getting a crash with a message (unhandled exception occurred. see log for details) when I try to load a save.
I found a solution, just change the renderer type. (I was having crash with dx10, then I have changed to DX9)
Hope this helps anyone who was having the same problem.
This is a fantastic addon. My PC couldn't handle anomaly without it. Quick question: Could a version of this be made to go with Road To The North? That uses the 64 bit Anomaly code and has Stalker 2K world textures as standard. My PC can't handle it, and I have heard likewise from others. If a 'Back to the Roots World RTTN edition' could be made it would be fantastic and we would be very grateful as it would make it playable. The mod dev is a top bloke who I'm sure would be easy to work with :-)

While there is no back to the roots for RTTN, you could use use some addons like winter mode (since there is no grass) and no gun smoke. This could improve the perfomance.
is there any way to get this to work with the BETA, it works perfectly with 1.5. but the beta seems to still have the ultra green/sunny day type vegetation. cant seem to get rid of it, even after i deleted the textures.
Can't wait until this gets updated to Beta 3.0.
Will this work for beta 3.0?
Anomaly 1.5.0 beta 3, all good BUT! draw distance looks ugly and when i started new game in Jupiter, i see only BLUE trees and bushes!
Blue trees and bushes sadly. Guess this needs a update.
I need this for my weak pc , my loading times are going to thank this. Any luck with an update?
My pc memory is being used to the maximum.
For anyone that the blue trees and bushes: You just need to delete the 2 file : xtra-bttr-levels.db0 and xtra-bttr-levels.db1 from the mod.
I don't know if it affects the fps though. But fps is fine for me even though i have a really old potato.
After testing for a while, it does effect fps though. My game also freeze a lot randomly in jupiter, zaton.
Guess we have to wait for an actual update or someone know how to make modification to level map file to fix the blue problem.
So....we'll never get an update for this?
thanks, my gaming calculator needed this

Does this affect the pixelated grass and tree textures on 1080p monitors?
