Pretty self-explanatory: this moves the flashlight from you head to your shoulder.
Shoulder Flashlight Mod
This is a simple position change that will move the flashlight from your head to your right shoulder. I did this because the suit I use more than any other is the SEVA Suit. For me, the flashlight looks better on the shoulder when using this suit, instead of sticking through the suits glass, when attached to the head.
This mod will overwrite the items.ltx file, so be sure to make a backup before extracting.
Simply copy the gamedata file into your "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" folder, and click yes to overwrite.
For those of you who know your way around the gamedata folder, and wish to use this mod with another that already modifies the items.ltx file, then this is what you do:
Open the items.ltx file, and scroll down to the entry for [device_torch]:identity_immunities (searching for it also works)
Next, find these 3 lines -
attach_angle_offset = 0, -3.14, 1.6
attach_position_offset = 0.115, 0.00, 0.07
attach_bone_name = bip01_head
and replace them with -
attach_angle_offset = 0, 0, 1.6
attach_position_offset = 0.115, 0.00, -0.03
attach_bone_name = bip01_r_clavicle
Then save and close the file.
For anyone simply overwriting their old items.ltx file with my new one, this mod will only work with vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (I'm using 1.0005). If you manually change the lines yourself, then there should be no problems, as long as the 3 lines mentioned above are not changed by another mod (to change the position, depth, or angle of the flashlight)
The new position works better for NPC's than it does the player. This is because NPC's can stand with their body facing you fully, whereas the player stands with his body facing off to the side. However, when the player crouches, the flash light will still shine forwards. When an NPC crouches, the flashlight will aim to the floor. With my limited knowledge of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. modding, this is the best I can do for now.
You can use this mod however you wish. There's no need to ask me for permission. A mention in the credits would be nice, but I won't get hung up over it. You spent the time to download it and (hopefully) read this, so it's yours to do with what you will.
If you find any problems, or don't fully understand how to install it, then send an email to:
I don't check the site all that often, so sending me an email is the best way to get my attention.
The skins seen in the screenshots are from the fantastic Oblivion Lost Mod by Kanyhalos and the OLP Team (with some slight changes to fit my preference) None of these are included in the mod.
I use the Oblivion Lost Mod myself, but the items.ltx I have included in this mod is from vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 1.0005. Again, if you simply overwrite your old items.ltx with my new one, then this mod will only work in vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
