Saiga-12K Remodel/Replacer & Rebalance.
This is a mod that replaces the original DayZ Saiga-12 with a Saiga-12K made by a guy who goes by the nickname "cakes".
Originally in some game called HV3R, the author has given me the weapon himself to make a whole new texture (specifically, "Blackgrowl") and add it into the game.
So yeah, the model is made by a professional while the texture is also made by a professional. If that doesn't go with you, then that's on you.
High-quality made model with high-quality handmade textures.
I'd like to give thanks to "cakes" himself for providing me this model and even taking his own time to give me amazing modeling tips and the like.
I'd like to give thanks to "LVutner" for help provided, specifically with the normal map, it was driving me crazy and draining my motivation until it was fixed.

Simply extract the "gamedata" to your main Anomaly folder.

- Blindside's Animations Addon. Makes the weapon use Blindside's Animations, recommended since it has a proper unjam animation.
No need to install Blindside's Animations. Recommended to install last if you have Blindside's Animations, though.
- EFT-Style Reposition Patch. Uses EFT-Style position instead of the original vanilla. (Make sure to have Blindside's Animatios addon installed FIRST when using this)
- "NO-STAL-GIA" Skin. Changes the brown plastic to a dark dull green and the metal is lighter. Perfect for those that miss the texture style of ShoC.

Graphics-wise:
* New Model made by "cakes", first made for HV3R then redid in his free time to add more detail to the model, such as an intricate fully modeled bolt.
Texture-wise:
* All newly handmade textures in 2048x2048 resolution made by "Blackgrowl", without compression artifacts and a proper Normal & Specular map.
There is an attention to detail, you can see it on the worn and the fingerprints.
Balance-wise:
* The weapon now has semi-auto and full-auto functions.
* The Magazine is now at 12 rounds and uses the proper magazine model.
* Recoil has been slightly increased.
* Fire-rate is lower, to compensate the fact it has a full-auto now.
* Removed a balance-breaking function in the weapon that made it so the first shot was incredibly powerful.
* Damage has been lowered a tiny bit, it can still take out mutants one-shot at point-blank distance.

Anything that changes "wpn_saiga.ltx" is not compatible.
A merge/patch can be done relatively easily though.

- Improved the texture, most specifically on the specular, details as follow:
* Text is now much better visible and adjusted
* Receiver has much better worn and shine
* Edges & Corners, especially seen on the scopemount, are much more pronounced
* Magazine now has slightly more signs of wear & dirt, this is because of the idea that the stalkers most surely re-use their magazines.
* More "scratched" details, mostly visible on the firemode selector and receiver.
- Added a new addon; NO-STAL-GIA, this changes the plastic to a darkish worn green and a lighter metal, perfect for those that are nostalgic to the old STALKER games.
- The gun uses a proper icon now

No, but I do accept user-made patches, as long as they are good and stable.

Most surely, yes, but you'll have to do some merging and the like.

Yes, it's also recommended (with PBR) since it makes the shininess prettier, but this is subjective.

I'm glad to see the model and texture improvements, but the weapon rebalancing is fresh and the most fun.
So far your mods have been AR and SR, and now SG has been released. Do you have any plans for the next one?
Yes, the next plan is to make "The G36 Pack", which will have G36s of all families. I think the best part about it is the fact you can use both scopes on the G36 itself.

Lovely model and animations!
I found a small error on the model, you can see past the dust cover release "into" the model when ads.
What about the textures?
Also, I need a screenshot of that, I don't seem to have the issue on my end.

What you can see through there is parts of the fingers and the handguard I guess.

It's one of the reasons I say the model is professional.
It looks a bit wonky because Anomaly doesn't have the best shadows, but still.

Not all weapons, but most of them yes.
For example, PPSh and AKS74 are good as-is, but AKM and AK74 need a better texture despite having a good model.
And then there are weapons like the SG 550, MK 14, F2000 and the like that REALLY need a new model.
Also as I mentioned before, there is a G36 Pack on the works.
If you change the MK 14 you're a legend, I love the gun (Especially with Hellblau's full auto mod) but the model is atrocious
Is it just me or is protagonist charging an empty magazine? But overall a great model, thanks. How about adding Kar98k from STCoP or TAZ? I have done this before for myself, but the animation could not be transferred. I'm surprised that no one has replaced this rifle during the entire existence of the mod.
Sorry, not interested in WW rifles, it also makes no sense for me that these weapons appear in The Zone, except for the SKS.
If The Zone were real, there would hardly be anything other than AK / Saiga and some civilian rifles and carbines. In any case, I will wait for new addons.
My friend Blackgrowl took a look at the K98, he says it's good as-is.
Only thing that needs to be changed is the texture a bit + some changes on the model lighting, and it can be good as new, if not better.
He MIGHT do it, fingers crossed.

this model is so well made , just like gunslinger and eft ones, i would really love to see all ur model pack like many other did, it definitely deserve to be in a pack, or maybe port it to vanilla stalker ( i havent tried on vanilla tho), name it strogglet weapons pack :)

I was really happy to see you fix the saiga, the gun looks beautiful and the sight is so much better. I'm not sure about the mag size though. I saw somewhere that you're thinking of fixing the vepr too, so you have the option (for balance) to keep the saiga with an 8-rounder and the vepr with a 10-rounder mag box. Although the current 12-rounder box is very a very attractive option, perhaps it's a bit too much, rendering all other shotguns useless, and with the addition of the vepr later on (which should be better), so... I don't know. Just leaving you some feedback, take it or leave it. Take care!

Upgrading the Saiga to the 3-round burst mode will cause it to lose its automatic firemode. Tested on both currently upgraded Saiga and a newly spawned one that is upgraded with debug mode's pocket workshop.
I believe adding a -1 to the fire_mode variable to \configs\items\weapons\upgrades\w_saiga12_up.ltx may do the trick, but I'm not too sure that is the only thing that has to be changed
Edit: adding the -1 to that upgrade file does restore automatic fire, and I'm not seeing any other issues.
Looks great, easy install with patches too; would be nice if it had shells in the magazine like vanilla (not to mention the SVD having no bullets in the mag.)
ZJ-B312 above me is correct about upgrading to 3-round burst removing full auto, however.
If anyone is trying to use this with Stealth, the new reload sounds provided in the Blindside's Anims patch will alert enemies. If you use YUNGPR1NCE's Re-Sound for Blindside's, these reload sounds will no longer alert enemies.

I don't know if it's just my game, but the animation is kind of borked in some strange way. With just using no additional addons, the hand movements for the reload are fine, but the magazine just flies out of the hand and then magically pops into the gun, plus the sound is strangely delayed.
When using the Blindside animation, it follows it perfectly with the audio and there are no visual bugs, but when pulling back on the bolt after loading a fully empty magazine, there's no sound of the bolt being pulled back.
To clarify, it only uses the 'saiga_reload' sound, not the 'saiga_reload_empty'
This looks like some kind of really wonky incompatibility with Blindside's Animations, although it could be an user error in my part, I'll have to check it out later.
I was able to delete everything and start over, I think it was simply the load order, or how I installed everything that borked the animations. Either way didn't bother installing Blindside's animations this time.
