Reshade and SweetFX for Resident Evil 4 with 4GB LAA Patch Setup. This is a Place and Play, no adjustments required.
To Install:
Download and extract to the following location :
Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 4\Bin32.
Start and Play
To Uninstall: Simply goto the Bin32 game folder and remove any file references (D3, reshade and sweetfx files)
Adding 4GB LAA x64 support. Can be used with or without the reshade and sweetfx.
Extract to the \Bin32 folder. Run the 4gb patch and apply it to the bio4.exe, it will create a backup for you.
Reshade version and ENB version have the same settings and look the same.
How to update the reshade and sweetfx.
Requires this mod be pre-installed before the update.
Download and install the Reshade version 3.4.0. Mediafire.com
- Download and run the ReShade Setup.exe
- Click Select Game and Direct it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 4\Bin32\bio4.exe.
Select rendering API - click the Direct3D 9 and tell it to overwrite the existing installation if asked.![res4upgrade]()
Say Yes to overwrite.

Say No to installing reshade shaders.

Once finished close the installer bar.
Next
Open the game folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 4\Bin32 and goto the Sweetfx folder.
Alter the SweetFX_settings.txt and change the line define HDRPower from 1.25 to 0.98 and define radius2 from 1.00 to 0.87. Which is found under the HDR settings.
This will correct the lighting as you will be using a double overlay of the effects, which causes the game to darken as well as correct the white light and over-saturation caused when the 2 layers are enabled together.
Start The Game To setup ingame file.
Once the game is running you will see the new reshade running also. Press Shift+F2 to bring up the settings in order to create the ingame setup file.
Click the + next to the address bar in the upper right, it will popup a small bar asking for a name. Call it re4 and press enter. The address bar should now list the newly created file and in the area below the Sweetfx [sweet.fx] & SweetFX [Reshade.fx] should be listed and checked with it's toggle key listed. Change toggle if you like. Once finished close reshade.
Click the x in the far right corner to close. Your reshade and sweetfx is now updated and should allow for a more stable game.
Any changes for the effects are to be made through the Resident Evil 4\Bin32\Sweetfx\SweetFX_settings.txt.

Mod Information.
This adds post processing effects. It adds SMAA, FXAA, HDR, LUMASHARPEN, LIFTGAMMAGAIN, VIBRANCE and CURVES. DSR/VSR setup. It also adds detail, shading and lighting, while enhancing colors but not altering the base colors of the game.
This can be used in combination with any DLC, texture packs, mods or add-ons.
Game cache verification (repair) will not effect the files or their functions.
To make adjustments to Sweetfx, go to the \sweetfx folder and alter the SweetFX_settings.txt file.
Alter settings as you like.
Check the Sweetfx\Docs for information documents. Hotkeys and bindings.
Trouble Shooting: Mod
Install the DX9 final release if you haven't done so previously. DX9 Final Release June2010
DX install: Download and run the file, tell it to extract to c:\dx, then after goto c:\dx and run the dxsetup file.
Check to make sure you are using the newest graphics drivers.
Try disabling any turbo or overclocking software.
Nvidia users can also use this mod to allow the game to run if you have any issues.
Rename the d3d9.dll that came with this mod to d3d9orig.dll and place the d3d9.dll from that mod with it in the Bin32 game folder.

Just create a settings file ingame, then exit the game and transfer the settings from the sweetfx setting file (from this mod) into the new reshade setting file.
