Open the game folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Aliens vs Predator\ and goto the Sweetfx folder.
Alter the SweetFX_settings.txt and change the line define HDRPower from 1.13 to 0.87. Which is found under the HDR settings.
This will correct the lighting as you will be using a double overlay of the effects, which causes the game to darken.
Start The Game To setup ingame file. Launch with any of the launch options.
Once the game is running you will see the new reshade running also. Press Shift+F2 to bring up the settings in order to create the ingame setup file.
Click the + next to the address bar in the upper right, it will popup a small bar asking for a name. Call it avp and press enter. The address bar should now list the newly created file and in the area below the Sweetfx [sweet.fx] & SweetFX [Reshade.fx] should be listed and checked with it's toggle key listed. Change toggle if you like. Once finished close reshade.
Click the x in the far right corner to close. Your reshade and sweetfx is now updated and should allow for a more stable game.

will this work with directx 11? like the shader
Cant seem to get the mod to work with directx11 launch or even the normal launch only the directx9
This version should work fine with the dx11 or the dx9. Have you made sure to install the dx9 final release. It is required by reshade and sweetfx to work. Win10 is missing the files in it's directx, so you need to install the dx9 final release to add the extra support. Try that then test the game.
I have the same issue as Ghostwolf517, can't run the game with DX11 anymore but the mod does seem to work (as it tells me when i boot up the game)
Doesn't DX9 make the game look slightly worse than DX11?
because i want to get the best possible graphics for this game.
I just did an install and tested it. Seems to be working fine, I was able to use any of the given launchers. As well in my options, dx11 settings all 3 are available. I even did the reshade update and it seems to be fine. Not sure why it would just quit working, unless you updated something recently like a video driver. I'm still using my older one, even tho geforce is saying a newer one is available. So it could be the new video driver, but don't want to update my video driver as it's working perfectly as it is. Start the game, it will give a message in the upper left then goto the game options, video and select the dx11 features, they should all be available.
Dx11 is a little newer than dx9, but it still uses dx9 library files for support, so it's not that much of a difference in the picture.
Start the game and check your video setting for the dx11 features, if you can enable them then it is running. As well check the note in the upper left on start it should say running in d3d11 mode, that will verify it.

Same problem here, DX11 or launcher wont work. Only the dx9 version.
Cant say what goes wrong for you all, but i just installed the MOD, and it works perfect here with the directx11 launcher.
Running it in 4K and it looks very good
I'll check into the issue and figure out what the problem is. Sorry I never got any notifications from this mod. You can try renaming the d3d9.dll to dxgi.dll and that may fix the issue. I'll check back myself later and update anything I find, seeing as the notifications don't seem to be working
