Hey Screw, will you do this Rebalance for the next version of Project Brutality too?

It would be good...

Honestly I would've been happy only with the faster weapon switch, that's the only thing that bugs me about PB

Well, you can do it. Just look at the end of Autoshogun Deselect state:
TNT1 AAAAAAAAAAAAAA 0 A_Lower
and compaire it with the original PB

Thanks. I like these personal visions on how doom (and even it's sub-sub-mods) should be.

How would you say this compares to PB Overhaul? Could they be used together or are they different philosophies? Any attempt at convincing painkiller to put your changes into the next version?

This rebalance is done with one purpose - to improve the feeling of weapons. I do not think it can be compared with anything else, it breaks the standard doom balance, forcing juggle weapons like crazy cowboy.

I understand now. Thanks. I'd like to run Reblance on top of Overhaul. It boots, but after examining the gzdoom log, it looks like the Overhaul .pk3 and rebalance cause each other to be ignored, somehow (it's not something I've seen before).

My ideal "Brutal Chaos" setup:
BD for better interactivity + PB for weapon insanity + Overhaul for PB fixes and improvements + Rebalance for fast, arcade weapon balance!

You can't load Overhaul and Rebalance together, they are incompatible.

yo', amm would you tell me how to install this add-on on to the main mod ?

that would be great, i'm a new learner with mods and all that other stuff and it's giving me a very hard time.

i would appreciate it very much

You need gzdoom (for example) to load your mods. Mods that conflict or mods that expect to be loaded in a specific order need to be carefully loaded in order. For example:

First: texture pack (AltDHTP, DHTP, TEXTUREPACKFINAL_ALT.WAD, etc)

Second: Project Brutality.pk3 (Note that PB has Brutal Doom "built-in", and so we don't need to load BrutalDoomv20.pk3 at all).

Third: PB Rebalance.pk3 (note that Rebalance does not have PB built in, and so we loaded "normal" PB.pk3 first)

Fourth: UI mods, whatever else (which may or may not need to be in order).

Also note that gzdoom is loading one (and only one) of the "iwads": doom.wad, doom2.wad, freedoom, tnt.wad, etc. You shouldn't have to worry about its load order (it's always first, and most mods/maps expect doom2.wad unless stated otherwise).

If you simply drag and drop the pk3s/wads onto the gzdoom.exe (or gzdoom.app for mac gzdoom), they are loaded in alphabetical order. Unless you're willing to rename the files with 1, 2,3, aaa, zzz in front of the file names (a poor man's solution which does work), drag and dropping won't load them right.

You need to download a GUI tool like ZDL (broken on mac) or DoomLauncher (windows only). You tell it where gzdoom.exe is, your doom2.wad, and your mods, and it lets you order your mods, save that order, and load doom.

Also, you can use gzdoom.ini file with [Global.Autoload] section like this:
[Global.Autoload]
Path=$PROGDIR/Wads/MapsOfChaos.zip
Path=$PROGDIR/pb203.pk3
Path=$PROGDIR/pb203Rev.pk3
Path=$PROGDIR/UDV_v1.84_A_BASE.pk3
Path=$PROGDIR/UDV_v1.84_B_MOD_ProjectBrutality.pk3
Path=$PROGDIR/UDV_v1.84_C2_VISOR.pk3
