A simple map for Road to Rome, for very compact infantry combat. It's simply a heavily forested valley bewteen 2 railway tunnels, and both teams start at opposite ends of the railway. While the railway line and train are the focal point of the map, it's also fun to go grass-ninja'ing around the outer sections of the map.
The map features the British against the Germans, the British Medic being able to access the Sten SMG while both teams have the bayonet in their engineer kit.
And a handful of custom content for this map. You'll see and hear falling rain, and thunder sound effects. There is also a very pretty night skybox, used with permission from the Forgotten Honor map 'Bukit Timah-1942'. Smig's locomotive and the train objects from Secret Weapons' 'Raid on Agheila map' also make an appearance. Custom skins are also included for the StG-44, B.A.R., MP40, and K98.
The map is playable in any gamemode except Objective (it makes for some hectic CTF fun), and suits up to 16 players. It's also pretty system-intensive on older machines like mine, so that's a further incentive to keep the number of bots down =P
Move 'Railway.rfa' to your levels directory, in my case:
C: -> Program Files -> EA Games -> Battlefield 1942 -> Mods -> XPack1 -> Archives -> bf1942 -> levels
You can give it out to your friends, edit it, or make new maps based on it but just don't take credit for stuff you didn't do. I wouldn't appreciate that.
This map has my permission to be on Battlefield 1942/Vietnam/2 Files only. If you want to stick it on your site, ask me. I don't bite.
If this busts your computer in any way, I'm not responsible. Sorry, but it was your decision to put it on your comp.
EA/DICE, for making Bf1942, the Road to Rome expansion, and the flatbed train car + open train wagon objects.
HellishER for the SP creation tool, and FourCentsShy for GenPathMaps.
Smig, for his locomotive object.
ctz, for the rain effects.
The Forgotten Honor team for giving me permission to use the night skybox.
