I’ve had a week long break in the middle of my TEE exams, (one left on this Friday). So I decided to test out the new SDK.

Right now it’s a beta, I’ll probably go back later and add some custom music/Glados talk, maybe even extend with a few more puzzles
That being said, any constructive criticism is welcome, and I’d like to know how difficult everyone generally finds it, plus how long it took to complete.
For some reason the console spews a bunch of errors I have no idea how to fix, and there is a limit to the portal rendering, which is weird… I’ll hopefully have those bugs fixed for the next version
I liked first fling puzzle, and the one beneath the grating was clever too. But the rest of the time this map suffers from repetition. What's fun once isn't necessarily fun five identical times in a row! I ended up cheating past the door sequence, it was so tedious. Still, it's worth downloading...and congratulations on nailing the visual style. :-)
(What's the filesize about? Custom texture or no, it's not THAT big a map!)

Hey ermm... i've tryed downloading a map before (not yours) but i couldn't find where to install it. And i was kinda confused because i used winrar since it was the first time i had used it. Please help!

If you extract the rar file to say my documents, you can view the readme file which has instructions where to copy the other files to.

Portal maps are really huge(15-20Mb), its because of the BSP file type, it really doesn't like open areas, and portal maps are usually pretty open.
Plus the custom sign at the start has 4Mb worth of texture, since valve made the signs really detailed
you think its big to download try uploading it a dozen times! :P
A few people have complained about the door sequence :S I really liked it, lol, maybe I'll make the ball live longer in the next version
Ah, sorry for the spam (second comment), but I just finished the map. You did an excellent job here. Took me about 15 minutes to complete it, using nothing more than the portal gun.
The end door was great. Took me a bit to figure it out, though I nailed it on the first time I actually tried to jump all the way there.
Can't wait till you release some other maps! Cheers

Just played the map and I can't understand why everyone found it so easy... I'm still stuck at the 1st part and don't have a clue after playing for what seems like an eternity

the 6th monkey, what you have to do is:

fire one portal into the roof, another into the ground, look through th one on the ground and aim at the angled pad, then fall through and as soon as you can shoot at the angled ramp. That way when you land in the floor portal you'll launch out of the angled ramp.
Then you have to (in mid air) shoot one portal at the top angled ramp past the field and another at the bottom, which you will land in and shoot out the top one landing on the top.
I thought that might be it but I thought it looked impossible....especially when I'm spinning around upside down at the time O_o
I guess I'll give it a go tonight
if you angle the portals right yo don't spin out of the first one, it makes it a lot easier :D
This map is really fun to play. The challenges are very interesting (I like the first one!!) and design is cool too ;)

Okay I have played it again and I think that I may have completed it ....
Is the ending the pit after the slime elevator?
oh and the part I complained about earlier wasn't as hard as I thought....I guess I just gave up on the idea to early :)
Anyway the level ended up being good fun, I wish there had been more puzzles though as well as the speed challenges but apart from that it was very impressive.
Also don't forget to finish it with an ending elevator

there is a special way to compress the map which makes it really esay to add to PC, I assume that, that method would be the same way to add it to the PS3.
The full release of this map will have that compression, but I can't make any promises whether or not it will work with the PS3
this map doesn't load when i try to play it,

Kinda small...
It's a pretty good map but somethings are a bit repetitive. You should at least try using a different layout if the puzzle is the same. But the best thing about it is the fling at the beginning, almost like it's using the func_catapult in portal 2 (maybe it's trigger_catapult).
