This mod from Lux adds names to certain points on your PDA and mini-map.
Mod name: PDA map with point names - Dark Valley v1.1
Author: Lux aka LuxZg
STALKER CS: 126.96.36.199
Fixed an error that I somehow made in v1.0, where texture of this map was a bit enlarged on the right, 14 pixels of transparent texture was added (don't ask me how). This was fixed, and now there is no more blurriness when you zoom in on the map (or when you read letters on minimap), and also all points which were a bit off are now correctly aligned. Actually, all points in the map used to be about 2-3 in-game meters to the west from the exact points because of those 14 pixels of NOTHING on the right of the texture, but luckily it is all fine now. Thanks to Kango for reporting there was something wrong with the texture size!
This map is now of the same quality as the other maps I've made..
Also, I have recompressed texture, and now it properly contains mipmaps as well.
This brings no additional changes in appearance, but it should speed up loading of map and moving/zooming it in PDA.
You can see new screenshots here:

I am also including overview of all 4 maps that I've made so far: Cordon, Garbage, Dark Valley, Agroprom - all v1.1, and you can find them all in STALKER FileFront and GSC Game mod download sections!
Rest of data below in readme for v1.0!
This mod adds names of points to the Dark Valley map in your PDA, as they are shown when you get quests.
Points included in this map are all those that are valid smart_terrain points for use in current game (1.5.05)
This is work in progress, and goal is to have all levels mapped like this.
This is how the map looks.. raw texture (converted to JPEG) - I259.photobucket.com
Overview on whole Dark Valley map in the in-game PDA - I259.photobucket.com
Zoomed in northern part of map (it gets a bit blurry ingame, probably because texture is originaly smaller than others, and gets stretched too much :( I don't think it's something I did.. ) - I259.photobucket.com
Minimap shows the markings as well (and you see I'm at the correct spot) - I259.photobucket.com
Someone asked how it looks when zoomed out completely, where here is a screenshot with current maps (Agroprom+Garbage+Dark Valley) in PDA together - I259.photobucket.com
Tested in 1.5.05, works fine, and no problems at all. Only thing is that it's a bit blurry when zoomed in completely, and quest icons are mismatched by about 2 in-game meters (few steps). Since it's nothing major, I'm posting it untill someone makes a suggestion how to solve the blur thingie..
Future of this mod:
This is probably final Dark Valley map for the time being, and will probably not change anymore, unless someone solves me blur-thing or if the game devs make more smart_terrains in future patches.
Next will be other level's maps, first I have to fix Garbage map so it's as correct as this one, and than I'm going to do Yantar, Cordon and Swamps as well.
Initial WIP thread (will contain updates and discussion about all future related map mods):
There is already map of Swamps as well, made by Lobstris! Check it out here!
Styles are different, but idea is the same. So I recommend it completely! At least untill I make my own ;)
Lobstris - for telling me how to use Gimp+DDS plugin - it worked without problems, thanks ;)
Blackheim - for telling me where I can find all smart terrain names (configstextengst_smart_terrain_names.xml)
jamie1992 and A Lone Hobo - for helping me extract more data from all.spawn files which speeded up development of maps a lot, and made them 100% accurate!
me - ofcourse, for making this map
