I'm guessing this doesn't require a new game, correct?

Nope, it doesn't. It's a simple content replacer, nothing more.

A lot of the files are duplicates of ones already in the game db.

I updated the mod with a more consistent file structure. Installing it should now be less confusing for newcomers to modding.

It wasn't confusing at all before.

I mean, it was all drag and drop, right?

I like most of what I see here.

If there's one effect I'd like to see adjusted, it's the hit effects on the human targets.

There's far too much blood mist.

There's a LOT of free and actual combat footage available online that one could use for referencing needs. Most of the time, all one sees are dust clouds being knocked off of the target's clothing. If there's blood, the quantity is usually very minimal.

I've seen high caliber rounds loosen up more blood, and bits of yellow that are small chunks of human fat being ripped out of the body, and even bits of white, which is bone.

Keep up the great work, and thank you so much for sharing.

I do understand your concerns, but blood impacts I have right now are made to look hollywood-esque and also to be clearly visible almost at all times. Darkening them or reducing their size will make it hard to see hits at distance or in bright daylight.

I understood the intentions before I even downloaded/installed it. You did a great job of hitting your target: having "Hollywood-hit-effects."

Perhaps you could give me some direction on how I could edit the hit effect myself? I've never done anything like it before, and I'm hoping that maybe it won't be that big of a deal.

What I'm hoping for is that there's some kind of config file where I could reduce the size of the red blood mist, or turn it off completely by setting it to "0" or nearly so.

If that was done, I would say that the hit effects would be pretty close to perfect.

If there is a config file that's easy to adjust, would you mind telling me where to find it, what variables I would need to edit, and what the values are?

I could take it from there.

Again, I appreciate your response and your hard work.

Grab the CoP SDK, start its particle editor and open this mod's particles.xr
Also don't forget to unpack the textures I packed with it into SDK's gamedata folder too.

I would like to add to this, the hit effects on some mutants and stalkers is an enormous cloud of pinkish red particles, overall I really like the mod, but this, especially combined with the shader based nvg mod makes shooting people at night look almost comical.

I think an alternate version with this effect lowered would be really nice.

Not too keen on it, I have to be honest. The blood mist is a bit OTT and fake. Feel like I'm in Kill Bill.

This is really impressive. Would you consider sharing a version that does not alter the blood splash/mist on a hit?

I like all of the new effects aside from those.

Using a knife to break a box causes the entire room to fill with dust. Blood mist doesn't even look like blood. It looks like some void to an alternate dimension opened up. Effects are overdone in my opinion.

Yeah. I tend to agree with most of these comments unfortunately. The effects are nice and they are very well done but I feel as though the blood spray could be reduced by about 25% and the dust/smoke particles by about 50% or even 75% while still looking good without it being over the top. As it is right now, firing more than a 3 round burst from most rifles covers the screen in smoke making follow up shots in intense combat almost impossible.

First off,, GREAT MOD, love it . But, is there any way to use this MOD Minus the Blood FX? . i love the Gun and explosion particle FX, but i but the Blood particles are far to bright and large, breaks the realism for me. ,. and like most people are commenting, I would cut the dust and smoke in half.. it would be A1. and for some reason this mod disabled the blood spatter FX against walls and objects. so i added it back in

You can add the Blood spatter by adding the files into the anomaly file. I used these, they are from Dead Air, but they work. Moddb.com

is there a way to turn off the blood mist when you shoot someone and also the dust by editing the files. i think the blood needs to be toned down anyway and the dust off of breaking boxes.

Everything is good except the blood blast when enemy get hit, it just look.. unnatural. It doesn't look like blood. Maybe you should remove or reduce its effect. the dust/smoke when the enemy get hit by bullet look pretty awesome.

Brother excellent job, but I have to say unless it's an incendiary grenade in the last gif, explosions don't have that kind of "fire", it's all about the "poof" and the shrapnels.

This mod seems to remove the blood stains / wall spatter from shooting someone, to have the best of both worlds you should add some blood textures into the textures file where they would normally be. That way you get the new particles, without losing the stains, I've tried it and it looks great. Just an opinion. Great work by the way.
