This map was first inspired by sirhinkles 2v2 streets and how his map gave me the idea of creating a much bigger map based around the idea of a war torn urban setting.
KEEP IN MIND....
You have the option to delete parts of the map and/or infantry/vehicles ect to increase your gameplay experience as a terrible lag may occur via (f3 mode) depending on your rig.
Before installing this file it is vital that you install GSM Fields of Honor XII. This is the one you will need. Moddb.com The mission file is only so you can have a quick taste of the map. The file consists of french/english & american versus germany & hungary. I have mixed the weapons on the german side introducing russian weapons.
Also it is imperative that you reduce your video settings at the start of the game (f3) as I have placed a lot of molotov cocktails and ap-mines around the map so when it all goe's off at the very start of the game the performace may decrease depending on your setup. Medium settings is fine, or even lower, but performance will get better as the game progresses. You will see a lot of fires so when they have gone down that's when performance increases again.
Here is a map that I have been working on this year. It was first inspired by sirhinkles 2v2 streets and how the map gave me the idea of creating a much bigger map based around a war torn urban setting and so I began working on the map, which became much larger over time and now it is from a series of three maps. This map being the smallest and all three maps again based around the idea of war torn Normandy after 6th June 1944. What really caught my eye in sirhinkles map was the various vegetation that was created and how I saw the imagination put into it. All detailed stuff and perfect for my urban derelict town idea. Also you will notice various textures & colours that seem out of place or colour, well they are only there serving as experimental reminders.
The map is very unfinished with a lot of work still needing doing around the surrounding of the map mainly going into the town itself like the roads and walls ect. Oh yes and anyone who wishes to edit this map for personal or professional projects then you have my absolute blessing. I think this map would serve as a constructive template for anyone wanting to build around an urban setting idea, but if you do make something with this map and upload it to the workshop, then all I ask is that you give us a mention as it will do wonders for my confidence in further projects. I will be working on this map more but not as much as I would like as attending college takes up a lot of my time.
SirHinkle for his support and kind permission to use his 2v2 streets which is located here
Also to merhabi & Marco393 for their help and support as well.
and also to the creators of the GSM Series for your continuing hard work into keeping this wonderful game alive and strong for the community.
Here is a link to my other maps:
To install the map. Extract it using 7zip or Winrar to Steam/steamapps/common/Men of War Assault Squad 2/resource/map. Then open the editor. Then at top right corner of your screen hit map, then load, then look for normandy 1944 fun map in the list. Then hit that and edit away.
For the mission file to correctly work. Hit f3 at the top left of your keypad. Then at top right corner of your screen hit where it says mission, hit that, then hit load and look for 'normandy 1944 fun map', hit that, then hit 'normandy 1944 fun map (gsm)mi' in the list, and then simply hit play thats located in green at the bottom right corner of your screen.
If you have any problems with installing the file or GSM file then give us a shout in here or via pm.
Cheers and Enjoy
