installed on your machine to use all of the features in NATO v3.5

1. Launch the NATO_v350_Installer_for_UO.exe file. The installer should
detect where you have Rogue Spear installed. NATO 3.5 does not work with
Rainbow Six or Eagle Watch. (This version will not work with Rogue Spear
or Covert Operations outside of their use in Urban Operations.)
TO PLAY (with Urban Operations):
Run Urban Operations and enable the NATO 3 mod! For best results, check the
'Disable Default Primary/Secondary/Special Items' boxes. Don't worry; you
will NOT lose any weapons.
This MOD will work in multiplayer as long as EVERYONE in the game has
this MOD installed.
INTERACTION WITH OTHER MODS:
NATO 3.5 does not play well with others. While the Urban Operations
version of NATO 3.5 does not overwrite default files, there is a new
quirk. The game appears to have a hard limit to the number of new
sounds used and referenced in the soundvol.txt file. If you install
two or more mods which each add new sounds, you may exceed this hard limit.
As a result, Urban Operations may crash to desktop when you attempt to enable

INFORMATION ABOUT NATO v3.50:
* This MOD adds a total of 58 primary, 25 secondary weapons, and 6 special items.

NATO 3.5 pushes the Rogue Spear and Uban Operations' MODs interface to its limits.
Certain 'bugs' are either normal or will have in-game solutions. For specific weapon
issues, you may wish to check the weapon's listing and the New Gameplay section
elsewhere in the manual.
Please make certain that you have faithfully followed the instructions in the
Installation section of the Manual. After installation, please confirm that the MOD
works properly in Single Player, before attempting a Multiplayer game.
* Loading Time: Due to the large size of the gfcm.txt, r6_string_table.txt, and
rommel.cxp, some users may experience a slight delay during the jump from the
planning menu to the mission itself. On a Celereon 600 Mhz system with 128 MB of Ram,
this additional delay added 9 seconds to the game loading time.
* Shotgun Lag: Some MP Hosts may find that shotguns result in unacceptable lag
due to the large number of pellets. Please consider using kit restrictions if
this becomes an issue.
* Weak Ammo: Body armor works in NATO 3 / 3.5; please re-evaluate your weapon/ammo
choices. However, if you are experiencing anomalous results in MP with powerful
cartridges such as the .376 Steyr and .338 Lapua, there appears to be hard-coded
limit to the 'kill/stun energy' recognized by the game in MP. After this level is
reached, the 'kill/stun energy' is rolled over. For example: If the limit is '1000',
a level of '1030' would then be rolled over to '30'. Hosts may consider using kit
restrictions to remove these weapons if this becomes an issue.
* MP Clients can't Kill: There appears to be a hard limit on how many ammo types can
be used in a MP game. Exceeding this limit causes the Client's ammunition to be
ineffective. Hosts should consider limiting the number of clients if this becomes
* Mislabeled Ammo in MP: When observing through a another player in MP, ammo types may
appear to be inappropriate for the weapon shown. This bug is currently unsolvable.
* Knife: Due to the limitations of the Rogue Spear / Urban Operations game engine, the
knife is modeled like a firearm. You have 1000 'strokes/stabs/slashes', not 1000 knives.
Walls can be pock-marked even if out of the knife's range. Thus, tangos will 'hear' you
if you miss. No, it isn't the most realistic system, but it was the only way to portray
a knife in the game. Blame the folks who thought that a knife would be a nifty addition
to the MOD.
* Enabling Multiple MODs in UO: Urban Operations appears to have a hard limit to the number
of new sounds used and referenced in the soundvol.txt file. If you install two or more
mods which each add new sounds, you may exceed this hard limit. As a result, Urban
Operations will crash to desktop when you attempt to enable the multiple mods.
* Grenades: Frags (including the satchel charge) cannot be mixed with another type of
frag. Nor can the flashbang be taken with the MK3A2. The game picks the grenade type
in the first inventory slot and adds the grenade count from the second inventory slot.
This bug is currently unsolvable. MP Hosts: Please consider using kit restrictions if
this becomes an issue.
