A great map by SilverBane`, ported by me to the Edain Mod.
Hi to all.
In my quest for new challenging maps, I stumbled upon a great one, set in Nargothrond. The map has been modelled by the user SilverBane` (I found it on "The Battle for Middle Earth 2 Heaven"). Sadly, it was not fitting for our beloved Edain Mod, so I had to struggle a little to port it (probably more than a little ).
Finally, I managed to end the job: I added some little perks (like troll lairs, settlements and Gollum) and tried to make it as fair as I could.
I'm gonna release it as a (more than) beta version, so feel free to report me any problem and improvements you'd like to see.
Once again I thank SilverBane` for the amazing job he made with this jewel.

A short description about the history of this fortress, as written by SilverBane`.
Nargothrond was the Elven stronghold built by Finrod Felagund, delved into the banks of the river Narog in Beleriand during the First Age.
Inspired by Menegroth in Doriath, and seeking a hidden place from which to be safe from the forces of Morgoth, Finrod established it in the early years following the return of the Noldor to Middle-earth, in the Caverns of Narog beneath the forested hills of Taur-en-Faroth on the western bank of Narog. He was aided by the Dwarves of Nogrod who also made for him the Nauglamir, the Necklace of the Dwarves.
Originally, a narrow path along the banks of the river could only reach it, but later a bridge was built across Narog. Turin persuaded Orodreth to build the Bridge of Nargothrond to allow speedy passage of forces into the field. Orodreth built the bridge from his doors across the Narog, and went to open war with Morgoth.
In centuries of searching, Morgoth had been unable to find the fortress of Nargothrond, but now not only was its location revealed, but the new bridge removed the defence of the River Narog. Glaurung the dragon was sent out from Angband with an army of Orcs to capture the city. After the defeat of the army of Nargothrond at the field of Tumhalad in FA 495, Glaurung and his army of Orcs came south, crossed the bridge, and sacked the city killing or selling the survivors into slavery.

Will it be possible to have this map for single player too ?
It's single-player, too.
Like in every fortress - map, the AI acts weird when put inside of the fortress itself, but when it starts from one of the outside settlements it works pretty good. Try it. :)
Now the AI is working properly. You can put an AI player inside the fortress and become the attacker!
Highly advised to download the new version. :)
Thanks for building a map of my fortress love it
Thanks a lot dude for the map, I create an army only of Easterling and Haradrim with six Mumakil carrying Haradrim Archer.
Epic Battle 18 000 Easterling/Haradrim against Gondor, Dwarf and Rohan (bug for Rohan they created nothing at all)
I hope you will create more map like this in the future and maybe with Easterling/Haradrim barracks too, it will be nice
Rohan was in an outside camp or inside the fortress?
I'm happy you liked it. Most of the credit goes to SilverBane`, though. I just worked to port it on Edain.
Rohan was outside the Fortress I will try inside next time with dwarf outside too
Probably I found the bug. I'll upload a new fix soon.
Try it again today. :)
Actually, thank you a lot for pointing this bug out.
I found out some AIs were missing in the Players List: Angmar, Rohan, Imladris and EvilMen, the ones added by the Edain team to the game.
Now they all should work properly. :)
I will try today the new version and tell you what bug I found about the AI
Epic map, I love how you implemented the echo-voice over in the cave, and AI is perfectly fine too! Might i suggest to place an outpost just outside, between the gates and the bridge. It'd be great to create additional forces when going against 3 brutal mordor/isengard, seeing as they will just flush my starting units out without a problem, the defense is great but I'd like to put up a fight at the least, since my units won't have any impact at all, I want to battle-out till the last elven soldier.
I'll try a full match soon (sounds strange, but I haven't played it yet) and let you know what my opinion will be.
Still, I think it would appear too much crowded in front of the gate: the space is very little, that's why I put one outpost just over the gate. I think it's quite good.
About the echo - voice, not my merit. :D
But I think the original maker of the map made really a great job. I just tried to improve it fixing things around.
Finished a 2 hours-long match against 3 Brutal (-25%) Mordor. I've to say you've to struggle a lot to get out of the fortress, but as soon as you manage to get the bridge and hold it, you can gain the upper hand. Truly a nice map.
Obviously it becomes impossible to win if one of the others player manage to break down the fortress' gate. But that's why it's epic.
I like played to the bottom of the map it's so much fun to see the enemy died by my pikemen xD
Finished a 3 hours-long match against 3 Brutal (Gondor, Rohan, Dwarf) by playing Mordor/Easterling/Haradrim.
No bug with Rohan in fact they create an army of 12 000 peasant, archer, rohirrim to use against me with Gondor soldier.
but Dwarf were weak (inside the fortress) they created just 750 warriors, stayed inside the fortress without opening the gate and that's all. Easy to kill. I unleashed 15 000 Easterling/Haradrim with 10 Mumakil with Haradrim archer.
Man I'm in love with this map, the only map which I can play Easterling/Haradrim
I find a bug, when we play Mordor inside the fortress and we use the power who called Haradrim and Mumak, they cannot be used because they're "block" inside the wall of the fortress, If it's possible I think you need to summon them outside the fortress, it will be better
I've just read your message. I fixed it, or at least I hope so.
Let me know about it. :)
It seems great map. Will this work on edain 4.4? How do you get Easterlings and Haradrims? Thank you. Do I just copy everything in maps file or do I need to do something else?
It suffers from the same thing all base maps suffer from, not enough command points for the player inside.
Also lorien is really bad inside because they can't level up their buildings through sanctuary, sanctuary upgrades don't work, and the speed increase for producing units doesn't work, and only one spawn point in the fortress. Basically if the doors get destroyed good luck keeping up against 3 players with only one unit spawn building at regular speed.
