also im surprised you didn't burn it down when you placed those netherack on the roof.
I burned out the wood interior of my cobble tower when I made lava towers down the corners in the past
I had a place a lot like this on MP once, but then I let my little sisters in...I walked out of the room for two minutes, came back, and they had burned the place to the ground! There's a lesson in there somewhere...
