I have the original version of the game from back in the day. This mod works, honestly the FOV fixer is the best thing out of everything. But when I use this mod it turns all the ascii text in the game into gibberish symbols. Why is this?
This is for WarChest edition, not retail cd version of Medal of Honor.
open zzz_upatch.pk3 using 7zip and delete the fonts folder

How do I know if I installed it correctly?
Dasiy it's correctly installed if you can see proper widescreen res and dynamic reflections on weapons and helmets just like those screenshots in this page.

Nice mod, would copying the zzz_upatch.pk3 to mainta and maintt update Spearhead and Breakthrough with better helmets and stuff too?
No need to do this, since expansions already use the main files, just paste the files like in the pack.

nice fix! i can run MOHAA with no problems but when i try to load spearhead and breakthrough from the game menu the game close down when i try to start a new game?
Spearhead and Breakthrough always need to be launched from respective shortcuts, not from main campaign. Cheers.
installed and works perfectly for allied assault and breakthrough, but doesnt work for spear head for me. is there any solution?

I don't know. But this patch is for Warchest Edition and all required files are included, even for correct fov in widescreen res.
The 16:9 settings work perfectly for MOHAA, but Spearhead and Breakthrough (launched from their own exe's in the game folder, created by the EA app) wont use the 16:9 settings. Do I need to copy + paste something in their own folders as well?
I managed to fix it by editting the newconfig.cfg files in the mainta and maintt folders.
