For some years, strange psychic disturbances had been felt by Librarians, emanating from a small planet in the Magdella system, Kladinsk. Two recon missions had been commanded to investigate the area, and were never heard from again. The first was the scout ship Xandria, and the second had been the troop carrier Achilles. No word had come from either since they had made planetfall. The Akriel's Revenge has been detailed with the third attempt to discover the secrets of the planet and find out what had happened to the two previous missions. This time, a Librarian, Uriel, was on board; on the previous missions it had not been deemed necessary, but their disappearance prompted Central Command to include a psycher with this mission to evaluate the situation at closer quarters.
KLADINSK: a campaign by Soot.All story and layouts by Soot.I have used some of the rocks in outdoor missions a littledifferently than how they were used in 'Into The Wild'; large rocks block movement and line-of-sight for both soldiersand aliens, and some medium-sized rocks block movement forsoldiers, but they still have line-of-sight, and allow aliensboth line-of-sight and movement.Many thanks to the Teardown team for creating Alien Assault,for making it so easy to customise, and for the excellent forum.For tilesets, thanks to the Teardown Team (Tutorial, Into The Wildand Temple Of The Damned tilesets), The Unseen (2nd and 3rd editiontilesets), Manji (extra 3rd edition tileset), and Omega2064(Mutant Chtonicles tileset). The Reactor tile I downloaded from theforum, but I can't remember who made it, and now I can't find thethread, so thanks to whomever it was.Ambient music (3 missions) - extracts from 'Momentum', fromthe album 'Collapse', by James Plotkin and Mick Harris.The Kladinsk folder is currently named '28', change it's number tofit into sequence with the other missions in your 'missions' folder,and paste it into your 'missions' folder .(Remember the missions folder numbers need to be a continouscount from '0' upwards to a maximum of 28, 29 being the singlemissions folder, and last available folder in the game for missions).Known Bug: In mission number 7, 6 troopers have to secure 6 squares.The objective squares should be grouped into 2 sets of 3 squares atthe North of the map: Sometimes, one of the objective squares appears in the lower part of the map. If this happens, quit the game and restart Alien Assault(Escape key/quit the game - don't abort the game!), the objective squares should then be in the correct place.
