"The old slaughterhouse in the forests of Himmerland, Denmark, always had a dark history, even before the ZED outbreak came to be. Strings of freak accidents led to the facility being abruptly abandoned by its workers and transformed into a haven for squatters, drug-addicts and curious thrill-seekers. Nowadays, with Europe under plague by the ZED horde, its run-down squalor is far less of a unique sight.
When Horzine received intel that a group of survivors had taken shelter at the derelict building, they began their efforts to aid and extract them. They air-dropped them supplies - food, weapons, trader pods - and, as a bonus, managed to remotely return power to sections of the building. As plans were made to (hopefully inconspicuously) extract the survivors, the situation took a turn for the worse. Apparently as a last resort, the group had lit a smoke signal on top of the building, not only grabbing the attention of nearby helicopters, but also the ZED masses lurking in the surrounding forests. Subtlety was scrapped, and in its place, Horzine sent in the cavalry for a rescue mission and a suicide mission combined into one.

Hey, this map is a solo project I've been working on like crazy for about a month. It's set in an abandoned slaughterhouse, with scenery heavily inspired by real abandoned buildings in my area.

A twist on the dynamic lighting of KF2, you get to choose what sections of the building have the lights on. Lights also cannot be broken. Use the switch inside the slaughterhouse to redirect the power to either the ground floor or the basement + exterior spotlights. Wanna camp in the basement? Switch the power and turn on the lights there, but risk being disadvantaged if you have to run. Forced into the dark? Send someone to sacrifice themselves and switch on the power for the rest of the team before they're overwhelmed.
To install, place the extracted KF-Slaughterhouse-v2-2 folder in

To run the map in singleplayer, launch up the game, press ~ and type "open kf-slaughterhouse-v2-1" without quotes.
I hope you like the map! It's certainly been a ride making it. I was pretty new to the UE3 editor before starting this, but I've learnt a ton and you can probably expect more maps from me further down the line. Definitely not soon though.
