After two years of work, I present the {JoF} clan's "Secret Mission Center", or at least my pass of the map.
When I was brought aboard the project two years ago, I saw the difficulty the {JoF} Clan had in making this map 'work' (so to say) while recognizing the potential the map had based on the versions that have been made available to me. At first I started to add areaportals so that the game didn't have to draw everything at once (reduces lag and increases framerate) and the more areaportals I included, the more it dawned that a different approach would work better.
So instead of fixing things, I decided to redo the entire map from scratch and literally rebuild pretty much everything from the ground up. While most areas are simply one-on-one rebuilds, augmented with certain design elements that are featured throughout the map. In other areas, I took some 'creative freedom' and are vastly different that what has been established in their version and since I favor the "less is more" approach, a lot have been removed including the connecting corridors which I feel didn't serve much purpose. These are just my contributions to this map
While I was developing this version, I was unaware that {JoF} made a public released of this map. One of the differences between their version and this one, is its filesize: this one stays nicely just under 40 MB. Besides rebuilding the map, I also rebuilded the folders and files structure and removed everything that wasn't being used by this version of the map. This also goes for the shader scripts because a lot of those weren't used or were for textures that didn't exist. All and all, the package that you will find contains everything the map needs to work and to be played and can be used besides the {Jof} Clan version.
You'll find two maps within the PK3 archive, one is the map which can be played for FFA, Team FFA and CTF gamemodes, the other is for Duel/Power duel only. That map features only a specific area namely the area containing the duel arena because for some reason the Dual starting points do not work.
