Improved Brutal Half-Life beta 2 SFX addon

Since most of us are waiting for beta 3, why not improve the old experience a bit? This mod enhances some of the old sounds and adds new ones. The main emphasis was placed on the gore sounds. Basically, I made a horrifyingly brutal mod even more cruel. Now it will be a little more fun to play. The mod is simple, it just updates the old sound effects to the new ones (and 3 menu themes for choice).

Versions and Updates

*Post-update fix: a small update that fixes bugs and flaws of a recently released version.

*Update: an update that features many improvements and fixes, but isn't big enough to be called as a version.

*Version: a big update that features a big amount of enhancements, fixes and additions.

Version 1.0. The very first version when the addon was just released.

Version 1.1. This is not an update. When I first uploaded the addon, I found better sounds and often made lots of updates to replace a single sound. That was my mistake. I should've made one update with all the new sounds. This version is slightly different from the first one.

Version 1.2.

Main changes

• The original Half-Life sounds are now in hd quality (made by chipsnapper).

Minor changes

• Gore and weapon audio has been enhanced. Gore sounds are more juicy, HK MP5 bolt and shotgun reload sounds are more satisfying.
• Sounds when player gets fall damage are now louder.
• Added foley sounds to the footsteps.

23.04.21 post-update fix. Fixed sound glitches and reduced the .zip file size a bit.

[LATEST] Version 1.3.

Main changes

• Much better foley and clothing sounds: on footsteps, jumping, crowbar swinging, reloading, etc. Makes the experience more detailed and realistic
• Improved gore sounds

Minor changes

• Better weapon sounds (including everyone's favorite shotgun cocking)
• Better item sounds
• Better concrete footsteps
• Small sound improvements, for example, ambience
• Added backup folder with original sounds if the user wishes to go back to vanilla
• Added readme.txt file with installing and uninstalling instructions
• Changed addon description format
• Much better thumbnail

03.06.2021 post-update fix. Clearer instructions in readme.txt, better Tau Cannon charging sound and fixed thumbnail

12.06.2021 update.

Main changes

• Improved audio quality and removed background white noise from most of the sounds (16 bit Sample Size instead of 8)
• Much better, fixed sound effects with increased/decreased volume (Gore, weapons, ambience, NPC, misc, etc.)
