Very nice work! I've been playing with no mini-map since Misery/CoC and I find that it raises the tension of the game. It also makes you have to be more aware of your surroundings and scout areas out for enemies/friendlies before rushing in.
The extra damage towards mutants is also appreciated, I felt some mutants were a bit too spongy (white burers in forest or the bloodsuckers especially).
Stalker mutants are supposed to be spongy, because otherwise they are very stupid and have mostly melee attack which means you can easily outrun/outmaneuver them or just jump on nearest crate/roof and shot like ducks.
Naked burer in Forest is a goddamn tank, isn't JUST melee and you can't easily kill him
It just makes me open up pda every 3 seconds
I play without the mini-map in Misery and CoC too, but it's because I know the original Zone well. In this new Zone I'd rather play with the mini map on.
Except for pseudogiants, I don't think any mutants in LA is bullet spongy. And unless it's in Misery, any bloodsucker can be dealt with by crouching low then blasting its crotch with a sawn-off shotgun.
Strange decision about increasing damage to mutants. They are extremely easy to kill as is (even on master).
PS: there is a much better weapon rebalance on ap-pro forum. It only supports Russian for now, but may be included in next patch.

In which folder are these files even supposed to go? A little more information wouldn't have hurt.
Make a gamedata folder in your Lost Alpha game directory and put those files in there. Also make sure you have game_data set to true in your fsgame.ltx.
Thank you, it worked. Do you know by chance what file to edit/remove from this mod so that at least the rest of the ui pops up again? It's the only thing I'm not interested into but I can't find a way to re-enable it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm liking the overall features of your mod (especially the fact that all enemies now go down quicker, I find it really stupid that in 'vanilla' LA you need something like 3 or 4 full magazines of AKM with AP rounds to kill a single zombie, even when landing all the shots to the head), it's just the lack of ui that bothers me as I don't share that '100% immersion or bust' mentality.
It's not a bad thing that people want to play with less crap on their screens, it's just that I personally prefer it that way.
I guess my "issue" can be solved rather easily, but I have no idea which are the files that I need to remove from your package. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Because I would like to keep the new blue dots for dead bodies and the new compass you added on the minimap, but revert the overall ui back to the stock LA one, if possible.

What dificulty do you play on? On easier dificulties bulets deal less damage so the enemies have much harder time killing the player with guns but the same is true for the player.
On veteran I now have no issues killing things. Handguns are kinda underpowerd especially the early ones but they are most of the time last resort/stealth weapon.
I play on master. I wouldn't mind if only some "special" monsters would be spongies like bloodsuckers and other medium-large sized ones but everything bigger than a cat or a mutated rat is tougher than a brick.
You would expect to kill a dog with a single shotgun shell at point blank range but nope, at least two or three before they go down.
Saiga 12's magazine doesn't come off the weapon when reloading.

It's to do with porting the animations, which is not my area of expertise, so any suggestions or pointers are welcome, just via GSC site thanks.

Is there anyway to make the mini map pop up? I know the original zone like the palm of my hand, but I'd need mini map in this new zone, at least for the first 2 playthroughs.
The minimap is on by default. There is an extra folder called "xx LADC Remove Mini Map". Make sure not to use this folder.

So how do I make it to get only new weapons plus The hit-impuse for all weapons, has been reduced preventing flying bodies , the flashing reed document, and corpses now appear a blue dots? As those are the only things that interest me. I like the HUD the way it is and the damage(veteran difficulty works just ok for me). Having all the fixes as separate options to customize this addon to personal preference would be great. Are the weapons changed to look like in real life od do you pan on adding that? Those AKs bother me with shell ejection on the left :/
For the original LADC hud, delete, or rename, the folder gamedata -> config -> ui.
NB This will not reintroduce the flashing document icon, as I have banished this foul pestilence to hell!
Remove cutscenes and that awful "dream sequence"
for some reason when I put your addon it breaks my equipment textures in backpack. All I can see is miniature textures from all items in the game.

fwiw - I'm using 1920x1080 resolution.
It's been a while but now that v6 is out I tried again and it happened again but I went to gamedata>textures>ui and removed ui_icon_equipment.dds and all is back to normal. wonder what breaks it for me.

I'm pretty sure this is because the ui_icon_equipment.dds file has been saved with mipmaps.
I edited some of the alpha and saved as DXT5 with no mipmaps. tested on my install and works fine.

well for me it still zooms in.
This can happen if you have set a greater than default FoV in the graphic options.
I use the default settings for the FoV, and for me they no longer zoom.
henry1491 I have found a small typo in your trade_barman.ltx
You have instances where wpn_mac10 is written as wpm_mac10 which causes a crash.

you probably messed up the install, your antivirus or antimalware deleted the file(s), your unpacker program like winrar screwed up unpacking the files or some other addon you added overwrote your weapons.ltx file.
try re-installing the mod, unpacking with 7-zip
I'm also having this "Can't open section 'wpn_fal'" error.
I used 7zip and didn't use other weapons.ltx file.
I checked w_fal.ltx and I see that spawn, npc and prefetch are commented out with $-symbol. But still someone at the entrance in metal factory has this wep, why else it would crash?
Hey, I fixed the problem!
In weapons.ltx there is section starting ; SPLAT Added +++
and ending ; SPLAT Added ===
I moved wpn_fal and wpn_m14 from that section to upper section just after #include "w_pkm.ltx" line and game no longer crashes.
If I get other errors like that, I'll move the rest of them.
Hey I wanted to ask somthing in the bar when I go to the merchant there is this one new AK (I think its the ak47 tactical) crashes every time I click on it

to fix this just go to gamedata\config\weapons\
open w_ak74_tactic.ltx
on line 35 is
ammo_class = ammo_5.45x39_fmj, ammo_5.45x39_ap, ammo_5.45x39_hm, ammo_5.45x39_hr
change it to this
ammo_class = ammo_5.45x39_fmj, ammo_5.45x39_ap
you should also change
grenade_class = ammo_vog-25, ammo_box_10_vog
to
grenade_class = ammo_vog-25, ammo_vog-25p
and save the file.

Hi , i have a problem whit the m14 , when i try to add the scope the game crashes and send me to the desktop , someone knows the reason ?
you might have messed up the install.
using patch 6, I was able to install the scope ([wpn_upg_scope_6] - Leupold VX-II) without a CTD.
however when using the scope(playing in 1920x1080 resolution), it looks like this.

this is because the scope texture was saved with mipmaps.
I fixed the texture, and uploaded here

copy and paste wpn_crosshair_acog.dds to gamedata\textures\wpn\
overwriting the one that is there.
