**ONLY OFFICIALLY SUPPORTS THE UNMODDED STEAM VERSION OF HALF-LIFE 2.**
This addon allows you to use fovs higher than Half-Life 2's maximum of 90. Useful for those who are used to very high fovs.
Shoutouts to jokn999 on reddit for getting me to make this.
NOTE: You have to use the fov_desired command to get fovs higher than 90.
To install this mod, follow these instructions:
1)Navigate to your Half-Life 2 files. You can do this by right clicking the game in steam, clicking properties, then clicking the "Local Files" tab, and then clicking "Browse Local Files"
2)Open the bin folder and replace "steam_api.dll" with the mod's version of the file. (You might want copy the file to safe location first, just in case something goes wrong.)
3)Go back to Half-Life 2's base directory and go to the "hl2" folder. Now copy over the bin folder from the mod. (Once again, you should back this up first just in case.)
4) It should work! If it doesn't or you see an issue like the game crashing, try the following: -Go to the "tools" section of your steam library (in the dropdown) and find "Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer." Install it and when it's done, right click and go to properties, then go to the betas tab and opt into the "_upcoming" beta.
If you want to remove the mod and forgot to make backups or lost them, just go to the game's local files tab in properties and select "Verify Integrity of Game Files."
works. and thx!
Does not work on Source SDK Singleplayer 2013, only the original half life.
Been trying to make it work with no luck, this is a great mod, but the real usage of it would be being able to adjust FOV in every mod that uses Singleplayer 2013.
Of course excluding the ones with set FOV's.
Why do you want to use it with SDK Singleplayer tho?
There addons for GMOD that let you increse that.
Any chance of getting compatibility with MMOD?
Don't think so, MMod has diffrent viewmodel fov's.
Could you PLEASE make this work for Synergy? I tried moving your files into the Synergy folder but it breaks the mod and I really want to play this with my motion-sick friend :(
Does this work with Half Life 2 update?

Dude, you are a ******* genius. Thank you.
Does this work with half life episodes?
It might but it could break certain things such as damage values and code that's exclusive to the episodes. So I wouldn't recommend it.

Great for something like Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike (because you'd use improvements of FPS and stuff like that (worse graphics,)) less so on Half-Life 2 and Half-Life because it's generally about the plot and graphics and stuff like that. Kind of and almost.
Of course I'm not saying this will work with Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike, but generally speaking anyway.
On Counter-Strike there's usually a lock to FOV though.
does this work with synergy
