Even though i personally don't find original breathing sound too annoying, i'm still finding this one an improvement and recommend for ppl to try it.
Very true. I guess this one has a more realistic feeel too it.
for me it's the opposite.
the original sounds like you are the person breathing behind the mask rather than sounding like you would here beathing sounds from outside of the mask. the difference is, outside of the mask it sounds deeper in tone, and inside you have all the higher sounds so it feels more like 'inside'.
also i just was looking for a mod/addon that fixes the loop. but even in this version it's exactly the same as in the original where you can hear the 'breathing in'-sound 2 times in a row at some point.
for me it's the fact the original isn't in sync with the visual fog on the mask, drives me nuts

So it seems like every 10 breaths or so there is a cut in the loop which makes it sound like the player is gasping lol, any chance the loop is slightly off? or is it intentional

This maybe a little bit unrelated, but what mod did you used to make the colour tone in your video looks like that?
Pretty sure that's just Reshade, might even be one of the configs here on the addons section.
Sounds are missing an ogg comment, that's not a big deal in this case but you probably should fix that using SDK or “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Sound Attribute Viewer and Tweaker” either way those are really nice sounds.

I can confirm this WORKS FOR ME on 1.5.1 when using MO2 for anyone who was curious. Still does have the strange loop sound, I wish that would get addressed by someone EVENTUALLY lol.
I can't hear the sound can you add a config for the MCM to adjust it.
