This conversion mod allows you to play a fixed version of Justin Carlton's Forward Motion as a mod for the MMod version of Half-Life 2: Update.
-- H O W T O I N S T A L L --
First, you must have Half-Life 2, HL2: Update, MMod, and MMod for HL2: Update installed in order for this to work.
Second, once downloaded, simply move the HL2MMod_FM folder into sourcemods, then restart Steam. It should appear in your library after that.
You do NOT need the original version of Forward Motion installed in any way.

This is something I've been working on for the past month. Forward Motion is a set of maps created by Justin Carlton (SneakySpeckman) which (in his words) "is really just group of ideas...Each map proceeds in order. Every map can be played individually, so you can load any map and start with weapons...If you get stuck you can always just load the next map.”
Long story short, the maps earned their way into the Hall of Fame on runthinkshootlive.com. But as HL2 aged and updated, Forward Motion did not update with it. Some parts of levels suffered game-breaking bugs and some couldn't even load anymore due to crashing upon loading. Wanting a fix to a mappack that I deem a classic in my heart, I took it upon myself to fix it and add small improvements here and there (nothing drastic). After finishing, I asked Justin Carlton for permission to release it, which he granted. So here you go.
NOTE: I was the only beta tester (aside from a family member of mine who played thru it once) for this project. I tried my absolute best to fix everything I found, but it is entirely possible there's stuff I missed. It's also possible some changes I made were completely unnecessary. If you find any bugs or think a change isn't needed in the slightest, please let me know and I'll update the maps whenever I can.
Also, from my view, the mod works perfectly fine, so if anything looks horribly wrong for some reason, please let me know.
Changelog: Pastebin.com
If you want to know the changes/fixes I made before downloading, you can check the pastebin link below. I also have a pastebin that has commentary for a lot of the changes if you are interested (these are also included in .txt files in the download):
If you prefer a mappack version that you can play in default HL2 or HL2: Update itself, this download contains just that as well as the MMod version, so you can choose if you want (there's instructions on how to install both): Drive.google.com
Incredible!
Crashed with: "Engine Error: ED_Alloc: no free edicts" when trying to load map 9
When you load it? That's weird cause I can load it just fine. See if this works: Right click the game in Steam, click Properties, click Set Launch Options, and add "-num_edicts 4096" to it (without the quotation marks).
i have the same error and im gonna try the code
edit:Nope it doesnt work
