4 mission campaign for Command and Conquer Rise of the Reds 1.87.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS CAMPAIGN WILL ONLY WORK WITH ROTR 1.87, NOT 1.86. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE ALL MISSIONS ON 1.86 DUE TO THE CHANGES BETWEEN THE TWO VERSIONS.
In order to use the latest features, you must download the latest version (currently 1.4) from the SWR Forum, as the campaign has been updated to make use of the changes.
To install 1.87, you must first become a member of SWR Productions, simply go to:
and register in order to download the latest version. Instructions on how to download 1.87 will be in the '1.87 Public Build Testing'. You don't have to be an active member, and it doesn't cost anything. Just use your membership to download if you wish.
To play this campaign, extract the mission files from the .zip file into:
Documents>Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data>Maps
Then open Rise of the Reds, go to Skirmish>Unofficial Maps, and they should be in there.
This campaign follows General Aleksandr, an unstable scientific genius responsible for giving Russia Tesla Technology. Frustrated by the lack of respect his peers give him, and the lack of funding from the Kremlin, he decides to find other means to gain the power he desires. Through fear or respect, he will command and conquer.
Follow a discussion with MaelstromX103, Mission 4 has been slightly updated:
Player colour now matches Mission 5.
A.I. is more relaxed and you have more time to secure the Oil Field.
Changes to Aleksandrs sub-faction:
New Shock Trooper Bombardier replaces Shmel Troopers in all missions.
You can no longer build Helipads, but you may now build Airfields.
RPG Launcher upgrade for Component Tower removed, Tesla Coil prerequisite changed from Industrial Plant to Weapon Bunker.
Briefing text and colour (to Maroon/Brick) changed, and they only appear for mission intros and objectives.
Text boxes are used for extra information.
Mission 1 changes:
Most of the Chinese Nukeneers have been removed, as well as the Shenlong Tank in front of the main Chinese Base.
Tech Reinforcement Pad replaced with an Oil Derrick.
Mission 3 changes:
Field Quarters removed, you now control the Barracks from the start of the mission.
You can now build Shock Troopers and Shock Trooper Bombardiers from the Barracks.
Mission 4 changes:
A.I response time is now slightly faster than previous versions, but you have plenty of time to capture the oil field before they retaliate.
Act 1 takes place prior to the European-Russian War, where Aleksandr is frustrated by the lack of trust the Kremlin shows him. The lack of mainline military units given means he must use his tactical mind to gain his promotion to general.
