Eat My Shotgun.
The theme of the map is a insect/hive temple based on a very hot arid planet. Adorning each side of the temple is great guardian statue's which look down upon the battle scared earth of the temple floor. This once great race fought many battles within these sacred walls.
The basic flow of the map is very open plan and supports a 3 layer structure. The top section is at roof top level and offers a short breathing space to collect valuable ammo and armour. The middle section is where all the heated action of the battle generally takes place and is linked to the top section via 2 teleporters and 2 jump pads. Access to the lower section is via two ramps which merge into 1 long corridor. The lower section of the map contains the yellow armour and the primary weapon. It is a one way in and one way out situation which offers many options of play. To deter camping of the goodies on the lower section an alternative grenade launcher is spawned every 3 minutes on the middle layer of the map. The will allow the more aggressive player to flush out those campers who prefer to sit and wait for their prey.
This map is based on limited weapons and limited armour. Battles should last a reasonable amount of time because the weapons will require several hits to kill your opponent. The Shotgun/Grenade Launcher combination has always been one of my favourites for enduring battles. The arena has a enough armour/health sprinkled around to support 2 players and keep you moving all the time.
