A cross-shaped crosshair that gets larger as your aim gets worse. It otherwise works as normal, changing colour and so on.
As Chevyfreak's old mod doesn't work anymore in 1.5.1, here is a remake.
If you find any problem, please post below.
Installation
Drop the gamedata folder from the archive in your main Anomaly folder and have it merge with gamedata. Even better, use a mod manager like JSGME.
The DLTX version requires Moddb.com
How You Make This Mod

Nice Job on This really :P Keep it Up !
Oh man, thank you! I was getting so frustrated with the current crosshair style.. I'd rather have no crosshair at all, if I am forced to use that tiny little dot as one.. Lol.
i love how tiny the middle dot is. and the crosshair in general.. it's perfect. it's thin, it's responsive and it tells me why i don't hit **** in certain situations. thank you stalker!
Nice really good job, but i more like the simple dot on th middle of the screen :)
Hey Great_Day Thanks for your crosshair been using it since day you first posted it!
Is it possible to change color of the crosshair to other than white as i have trouble finding it in my current playtroughts with winter addons.
Anomaly is a great platform for modders and right now its possible to stimulate every year seazon you want in your game by swapping some mods and reshade presets etc..
Dont have in plan to make such mod, i take it would be easy to someone with know how to mod stalker experience to make one :} i just mod my game with mod organizer for its far easier and faster way to manage your mods,profiles etc as it uses different file management than jsgme and keeps your anomaly vanilla install clean with no mods, also reduces total anomaly files size on disk as i havent found a way to move location of left mods tab of JSGME before so mods ended up taking double the size on my poor 111gb ssd
If this works the way I think it does it will be controlled by the base crosshair color sliders in settings>visual>huf
As ravenascendant says, you can edit this using the in-game settings. Once you are in HUD, there are some sliders that can edit the colour of the crosshair. By default they are white, but you can mix them and set them to any colour.
silly me, thanks for reminding me those sliders actually exist >_<
Didn't RavenAscendant have a crosshair mod called 'Ascendant Crosshairs'?
This is an ltx edit to turn on this feature in the engine.
Ascendant crosshairs has always had this as a listed intended feature but doing it in lua some normalizing of accuracy that I havent pinned down.
You could use this mod as well as ascendant chrosshairs right now. Disable axh whennyou have a weapon drawn, or pick a crosshair in axh that doesn't block this one
Ascendant Crosshair also has a nice feature that this one doesn't have, which is that it makes the IFF usable for colourblind people by changing the shape of the crosshair instead of the colour.
Is there a way for me to remove the center dot, and just keep the dynamic "bars", I want to have the cross hair be a "general area" as opposed of a fine dot, for moments of desperate hipfire before I get eaten by a bloodsucker.
Hi, I haven't tried it (and I'm no good with dds), but there seems to be an answer here: Steamcommunity.com
"To get rid of the dot for good, you need to find the "cursur.dds" file in "gamename\gamedata\configs\ui\" and edit it in GIMP or something else that supports .dds files.
Open it, fill the whole image with black, then find the alpha channel and do the same thing thee. Save it as a "DXT5 - interpolated alpha" .dds file and drop it back into the folder it came from. :D"
This guide is for Call of Pripyat and is a bit wrong, in the sense that the file is called cursor.dss and was in textures\ui, but the point should be the same, edit or create a cursor.dss file (this is the vanilla file in question Ufile.io , link will expire in 30 days), then find the right path to add it to gamedata. If Anomaly works like CoP, it should work.
I did this but \configs\ui\cursor.dds only shows up ingame when the hands are empty or using the binoculars/bolts/grenades/detectors.
The weapon crosshair is configured in \configs\system.ltx in the [hud_cursor] section.
This line has no effect it seems, not even when NPC identification is off:
cross_color = 0.7,0.7,0.7,0.5
This reduces the crosshair to a dot:
cross_length = 0.0
But I still haven't found a way to remove the dot in vanilla CoP.
Any ideas?
Really cool, thanks. Although now I have been playing a lot I try to use no crosshair for the challenge, but this is much better than the stock dot.
Hey, I don't know if this crash is being caused by this or one of my weapon mods but this is what appears in the log after trying to load into a new area
