SVD "Dragunov" Remodel/Replacer & Rebalance.
Always loved the Dragunov, magnificent weapon. Sad thing is, the texture for the Dragunov was terrible.
It looked to be relatively clean despite not trying to be, didn't have enough edge and grit, just felt like a very old model and texture overall.
So I decided to replace it with one made by "Matthew Wilshaw" using my textures.
Also, to further make Dragunov the cool weapon it is, I've made some minor balance changes such as giving them the ability to use the Ironsights even if you have scopes attached.
I'd like to give big thanks to "Qatapro" since he helped me set this weapon up.
I would also like to thank my good ol' friend, "Lord Blundernaut", for fixing up the animations for me.

Simply extract the "gamedata" to your main Anomaly folder.

PATCHES/ADDONS INFORMATION

- "EFT Style Weapons Re-position". A patch to make it compatible with said mod by Apathy_Knight.
- "NO-STAL-GIA". This makes it so the 2nd variant of the SVD, "Customized", uses a somewhat-intricate desaturated green plastic instead.
- "Alternative Lynx". Changes the camo of the Lynx to a much more subtle one.

Graphics-wise:
* New Model made by Matthew Wilshaw, with textures made by Blackgrowl.
* Unique "Lynx" variant uses a 20-rounds magazine model.
Texture-wise:
* All textures at 2048x2048, without compression artifacts and a proper Normal & Specular map.
* "Default" texture is a very worn Wood&Metal SVD, fit for the dark grittiness of the STALKER environment.
* "Customised" version now uses Synthetic parts instead of Wooden. The Metal is also cleaner, but still worn.
* "Lynx" version is now even more unique; Synthetic parts with Lynx-imitating Camo. Ironsights also have Tritium.
Balance-wise:
* All SVD variants now have "Alternative Aim", this means that if you want to aim with the ironsights despite having a scope, you can.
To use it so, simply press the "Grenade Launcher Mode" button which by default is the "V" key.
* All SVD variants have adjustable Tulip scopes.

* Fire-rate has been increased substantially. (45 to 120)
* Lynx now uses a 20-rounds magazine, with a proper model to fit.
* To balance the buffs, the recoil is now MUCH higher.

* Weapon has no "Lock" in the model. I will make an update that adds it later.
* Bullets are not visible in a full-mag. I will make an update that adds it later.
- Weapon scopes might be inconsistent with the textures, not something I will "fix" just for one consistency though.
+ However, might fix the Lynx's scope's texture later.

Anything that changes "wpn_svd.ltx" is not compatible.
A merge/patch can be done relatively easily though.

Can someone pretty please make a patch for this and the AN-94 remodel this dude did (which is really really good btw!) with the EFT STYLE WEAPONS RE-POSITION? With sugar on top? The latter re-positions the weapons and allows 3-d scopes which is nice.
A patch for "EFT Position" is already available for BOTH mods, get their latest versions.
Lost for words. I'm on it! Was so stoked on the an-94 and so sad at the same time. I used your addon for a few days, but it was weird having one gun with different fov. Then today I saw you did the svd, and it's one of the weapons I haven't used because it needed some love. But... the repositioning is a must for me. Thank you and apathy_knight so much!

Yeah, I have a Saiga-12K on the works, this one made by Patrick Sutton with all textures by Blackgrowl.
Might think of the VEPR because I found a good model with a common license.
Do you plan on optimizing the animations? The sprinting animation looks kinda awkward and has some dead lag, at least on my end.
Apart from that, I love the models!
Animations are not my trade, so sadly I can't do much about that.
If someone is willing to do them though, I'll be delighted.
anomaly weapons animation redux fixes dead frames and the jitter and adds non-scripted partial reloads for the svd. though you will need to merge the animation sections in svd.ltx. personally i use those animations for the lynx as well because the clipping isn't noticeable, just remove the reference to the big mag animation to do this.
also that addon suffers from lazy modder syndrome and packs all its animations into one file, so you will have a lot of unused anims in your files.

not entirely sure how it handles traders so bear with me

the lynx big mags wont spawn in trader invents or with the gun because of the way anomaly mags handles weapons, same reason you cant obtain mags for guns with calibres changed through upgrades normally, gotta spawn em or add em to trader files manually. i haven't done that just for the sake of compatibility.

I am new to this modding community. Pls tell me if I should ask this message somewhere else, its about arm clipping.
I have noticed one issue with the svd reloads, pardon me for not really playing vanilla, and it is that when the actor reloads the arms clip out as if the hud_fov is set too high. Now I only play at hud_fov set to 0.45 (which is the default, if I remember correctly). Can I set it such that it forces the hud_fov for this specific weapon or even if this is possible at all? Again, please guide me if I should ask this somewhere else.

I believe what you are asking is how to individually set a "hud_fov", it's relatively easily.
You simply have to go to gamedata\configs\items\weapons\ and in there, in this gun's case, open up w_svd.ltx, with Notepad++ preferably.
In there, you have to go down until you reach [wpn_svd_hud], this is the config used to modify how the HUD display of the weapon works.
Simply put "hud_fov = 0.35", anywhere you'd like. I myself would put it on top of "aim_hud_offset_pos".
It might be you don't have the w_svd.ltx file unless you use this mod, you'll have to refer to the basic modding guide for Anomaly, the Discord Server itself should help you or try finding guides.

For some reason the textures are much worse or broken compared to the screenshots and i don't know what's causing it. Any Idea?
Give a screenshot or I'll have no idea what you're talking about, other than perhaps the fact you're using DX8/DX9 or some shaders that break it.
EDIT: Fixed, he talked with Blackgrowl and found out that it was a faulty Anomaly install.

This sounds like a faulty install, or you are using another animation that is also broken.
Man i love your models! this one really breathes new life into one of my fav rifles.

What do you mean? When you aim with the tulip it doesn't zoom?
I think that's because of a conflict with the "alternative aim" itself, try pressing the Grenade Launcher key, which by default is V.
You say in the mod's description TULIP scops can now ajust zoom on the fly right? or did i missread? in any case my issue is TULIP's only have 4x zoom like they always did9 instead of adjustable zoom.

It's a really nice looking model, but for some reason my Kobra sight is way out of alignment, if that one is I assume other scopes might be too. The iron sights also don't line up. This could certainly be due to some mod I have, but I tried turning a few others off and nothing fixed it.
I'm very sure it's an issue on your end, because everything works fine for me.
Figured it out, had something to do with how/what order I installed Tacticool Scopes, got it working very nice model indeed. And being able to use switch to iron sights!
