Thank you for downloading DNA's Dark Ages Chronical. I spent approximately three weeks putting this story together. I hope you like it. It is based loosely on the Single Player version of the search for Anezka.

-***-Story Theme-***-
Anezka has gone missing, stolen in the night by unknown creatures. Now the inhabitants of Prague are searching for her. When you and your party arrive, you'll encounter the town's leader, LeCompte, and he will tell you what's going on and ask for your help to find Anezka, whose good deeds have endeared her to the entire town.
==>Storytelling<==
-When you begin the game, you'll have to abandon your character for a moment to tell the story. Possess the Lecompte character (you may want to pause to keep your players from running around the map and missing the dialogue), and when one of your player walks up, step forward and say,
"Good evening, strangers. Welcome to Prague. I am Lecompte. I apologize for the chaotic state of our fair villiage, however the good sister, Anezka, has gone missing in the night. The entire town is out looking hence for her. May I ask, have you seen her in your journeys?"
-Your players will probably say no or something to that effect, so when they're done responding, make Lecompte say,
"Alas, I fear the worst for good Lady Anezka. Might I ask for your assistance in finding her?"
-Your players are supposed to say yes, that they will help. When they agree, respond,
"Thank you, good strangers. Please, look for the woman in the red dress with raven (black) hair. She can give you more information about what to do next."
-Pause the game for a second, and look in your list for a character called Lady (there will be more than one). You're looking for the one that has the talk icon when you highlight her. It's the multiplayer Kazi model, wearing the default reddish dress. Possess her, then unpause the game. Allow her to wander around, or make her wander and let your players find her. They'll realize she's the right one because of the talk icon when they click her.
-When the players approach, stop wandering and wait for them. Then say,
"Greetings, strangers. Where do you hail from?"
-Let the players respond however they like, then say,
"Has Lecompte asked for your assistance in finding Lady Anezka?"
-Players will say yes. Make the lady say,
"Ah, you need my information then. Alas, I cannot provide it until my antique exquisite dagger is back in my hand. It was stolen two nights ago around the same time as Lady Anezka. If you find the dagger, I am certain I can provide you with more information about Anezka's abduction."
-Now you can possess your own character again. Take everybody down to the silver mines and kill everything down till you get to Azhra. When you kill Ahzra she will drop an exquisit dagger. Grab it and run back to town to give it to the lady. Pause the game and possess the lady again. When your players approach, she will say,
"You returned so quickly! You must be great warriors."
-Have someone drop the knife on the ground in front of the lady, and have the lady pick it up. For added interest, open the lady's inventory and equip the dagger. She can't use it, but it looks cool that she's got it while she's walking around. Have her say,
"Ah! My dagger at last. Let me examine it."
-After taking just a moment, say
"It is as I feared. There is no information to be had from this dagger, but wait. Go to my sister Kazi, an apprentice witch recently embraced by a Tremere fiend. She stays with her mentor over on Golden Lane, in the shop. She has the power of a seer, and I'm certain she would be willing to help you."
-Have everybody run over to the Golden Land, then pause the game and possess the kindred Kazi(in the dark dress), who is inside the Gypsy magic shop. When the players arrive, pretend like she's talking to the witch and then surprised by the players. Have her say,
"Yes, indeed. That was the funniest thing. The lad thought twice about groping me when a golem sprang from the earth and chased after him. I almost wish that...oh! uh, hello there."
-After the players greet her and tell her about her mortal sister sending them, she'll say,
"Ah, yes, Mira. How is the mortal dear? No, nevermind. I'll see her tomorrow night. What can I do for you?"
-You can either possess your character at this point or let one of the players answer. You'll want the answer to be something like "We heard you have the power of a seer. Can you tell us where Lady Anezka is?"
-Possess Kazi again. Have her say,
"Yes, I indeed possess the power of seeing, however it is not honed like it should be. I need more practice. If you can get for me the unnamed ancient scroll in the bowels of the Tremere lair, I possibly could use it to enhance my vision, and tell you where Lady Anezka is. I would try to get the scroll on my own, however I am outcast of the Tremere because I use my powers against them. They are attuned to my presence and would know if I was with you."
-Your party will agree and you all go over to Ardan's Chantry in the pharmacy. Fight your way down to level 4, then find the unnamed scroll in the middle of the little alcove, gaurded by a wolf and some hoppers. This is the seemingly useless blank scroll from the game, but here's a nice use for it.
-You'll have to jump your party out of the Chantry level 4...the game designers didn't make an exit (stupid isn't it?). Jump them to Golden Land, and then take the scroll back to Kazi and drop it at her feet. Possess her again and pick it up. Choose one of her disciplines that give a cool lighting effect and right-click. She doesn't have the animation to move like the players, but the light effect will still work. Pretend like she's using the scroll to cast the seeing power. Then have her say,
"Ah, yes...Anezka. I can see her...she is in a dark place. She is very frightened. They are forcing her to do something, but it's too dark. I can't see in this blackness. I..it's...gone... I'm sorry, but I've lost the vision. You must find another way to Anezka, and you must hurry. They are performing some horrible ritual on her!"
-Your players will wonder what to do. You can wing it with the dialogue if you choose, but ultimately, have Kazi say,
"Go down to the tunnels there behind the building on this Lane. Go down to Josef. He wanders the streets often at night under cloak, and may have witnessed who took Anezka. Hurry now, before it is too late!"
-Go to the street entrance/exit to Josef's Tunnels, level 3 (I removed the bars so you can go down there). Take your party down there and then possess Josef while they're fighting his enteragé of 2 Nosferatu and Othellos. When they're done and come around the corner, pretend like you're sicking the rat on them. Say something like,
"Oh no! Intruders! AAAA!"
-After the rat is dispatched, back Joseph up and say,
"Don't kill me! Please don't kill me!"
-I don't know what your players' response will be, but the story is designed so that they demand he tell them what he has witnessed and if he knows where Anezka is. He'll say,
"Whether you kill me or not, I am dead if I tell you without the Prince's permission."
-Josef will steadfastly refuse to tell anything without the Prince's permission. So go to the prince (go back to Judith bridge, and through the barred gate with 2 guards). Run around behind the building to the hole knocked out of the wall. When you get to the prince, possess him and say,
"Who dares to demand an audience with Prince Brandle?"
-Let your players respond how they will. When they're done, say
"Why should I grant thee termites who call yourselves Kindred go on such a mission? Lady Anezka is mere mortal. We should not care what happens to her."
-While your players are responding, possess Ecaterina. Have her say,
"The strangers have a point, my Prince. Anezka is not an ordinary mortal. She has a kind and decent soul, and even if we do not care for her as a person, she still possesses something that evil would seek to defile."
-Possess the Prince again. Have him say,
"Indeed. I shall allow you to go on this fool's errand, however, you must bring me the reliquiary that was stolen from me by the vile Cappadocians before I will bestow my permission for you to pry the details from the cowardly Josef."
-Have everyone go to the monastary and fight their way down. In front of the Diablo-looking painting on level 3 (where you found the finger bone key in single player) the reliquiary sits with a bunch of loot. After you fetch it, take it back to the prince and drop it at Ecaterina's feet. Possess her for a moment and pick it up if you like, then possess the Prince. Have him say,
"Ah. Well done. You have my permission and Josef has my permission to reveal to you what has been done to the woman. Get thee from my sight."
-Return to Josef and possess him. When your party gets there, say
"Ah, you have permission. I can see it in your eyes. I shall tell you what I have seen. Two nights ago, Lady Anezka was returning to her home after visiting with some sick friends. I was outside under cloak, watching, when I saw three Tzmisce ghouls drag her off to Viserhad mountain. I suspect she is there, somewhere, within the castle. I wish thee luck with finding her. If I weren't such a miserable misshapen thing, I would ask to join you. Bring her back safely, my friends."
-Have everyone run to the castle and fight your way down to the end level. When you go in (after the vozhd area), you'll find Anezka passed out on one of the pedestals beside the coffin. Possess Libussa. As the players approach, say
"Fools! You are too late! They have already begun the transformation on her! She belongs to the Tzmisce, now and forever!"
-Have someone demand to know what the transformation is, and then demand to know where Libussa's master is. Possess her again and say,
"When she awakens she will be a loyal ghoul to clan Tzmisce! You cannot stop the transformation. As for our master, he is long gone by now. You could not have stopped him, even if you had gotten here in time!"
-Possess your character again and delete Libussa, as if she'd transported away somewhere. Run up to Anezka and hit "F" to activate feed. Grab Anezka and feed on her, but before you drain her totally, open up the character menu and revive Anezka to full health. Stop feeding on her and walk away. Possess Anezka and say
"What have you done to me? You have embraced me! Why?"
-Possess your own character again and explain that you had to embrace her to prevent her from becoming a horrid ghoul, and that it was your only choice. Possess Anezka again and run to the other end of the room, as if angry. Possess your character again and jump your whole party to Anezka's room.
-Anezka will be there at the mirror, apparently reflecting upon what has happened to her. Possess her, and use dialogue with your players to explain that yes, at first she was upset to be embraced, but she understands why you did it, and thanks you for your rescue.
