Returning to the Akriel's Revenge, they heard over the shuttle's intercom that the few remaining aliens had been wiped out. The hulk was clear. They looked forward to returning to their Chapter's home planet, there to immerse themselves in meditation, ceremony, and maybe, just maybe, they would be presented with the bones of the hand of some dead comrade, to engrave with fine runes and treasure until some day, their own bones would be presented in the same manner to future Marines. They looked forward to more campaigns, more battles against the foul beasts of the Warp that threaten humanity at every turn. Marines they were, and Marines they would remain, until death. That was their fate, their destiny, and their wish. For the Chapter, for humanity, and for the Emperor.
