Install this English translation over CoM 1.0d fix 2 or later by following the included README.
Installing Call of Misery
The official CoM thread (Russian) is at Ap-pro.ru and will always have the latest release files. You can download the CoM installer and patches from there and install it over CoC 1.4.16 if you choose.
The simplest method is to use the full Repack by OpmizShow (CoM 1.0d fix 2). This contains CoC as part of the download, so all you need to install is the repack and the English translation.

CoM Addons
There is a dedicated Russian thread for CoM addons at Ap-pro.ru - this is your best source for general mods for CoM. However, using these will almost certainly lead to untranslated strings showing up in your game, you should expect this.
The /sg/ CoC repo at Mega.nz may have the latest versions of the more popular weapon packs for CoM (AO/STCoP) - look under each CoM release's folder. Do note that anon makes no guarantees of the repo being up to date.

Thanks for the translation, I finished CoCh 1.4.16 some time ago and was thinking about picking up CoM (played Mis2.1.1 three times and really liked despite some flaws). Cool to see there is repack too.

Original Misery was sort of easy for me, but Call of Misery kicked my *** over and over again. It must be because of the starting gear (rookie coat, breaks so easily). XD
Anyone got any advice for Call of Misery, without cheating?

Just started yesterday playing Merc master.Accepted 2 quests in M.Warehouse.Good money and lot of gear if you manage to sneak inside one of the barracks at night and snipe every Freedom entering with a simple pistol. Then hauled back 120 kg of tradable wares.Bought repair kit and NV helmet.Now I have good weapon and ammo to go on . ;)
Basically everything you learned from Misery will help one way or another:
- don't stick your head out in firefights
- use environment to your advantage (hide on the rock from mutants)
- don't be reckless if you're in a good condition, be reckless if you're in some helpless situation
- always scout before approaching; any intel will help
As for CoM specifically:
- get better knife; your starting one is not capable of gutting some thick-skinned mutants, such as boars, chimeras, pseudogiants...
- consider buying the hunting kit; it will increase amount of loot you can find on mutants
- want to find high-tier artifacts? Then you should go to the north. The closer location is to the north, the better artifacts you will find.

There's Russian forum called ap-pro. This is the place where Call of Misery was originally posted. This thread ( Ap-pro.ru ) is made specifically for CoM addons.
Notable stuff: AO, STCoP, weapon dismantling, cooking on bonfire, working as a guide, thirst simulation, Hunting and Stalking, Realism Addons by Dimeyne, new visuals for NPC's, Any Useful Thing Is My and others.

I am trying to join it, but its so hard. It asks for some **** like my hometown, real name, my social network link, ICQ(whatever that is)...
Has anyone discussed the drop-rates by human actors in that game? I find it really annoying, and immersion breaking, that I need to carry around food and water and medkits and bandages and tools for basic survival yet everyone who dies has 4 bullets and 10% durability gun after a several minute long fire-fight.
Thing is, such tweaks would break current balance very easily. The correlation between loot and rank already exists: you won't find a lot of good things on poor rookie bandit, but you will get goodies from some master merc (those have their weapons in relatively high condition; 50% is a max threshold for weapons on bodies).
Give X-ray a slight chance so that some enemies will drop guns in good condition and you will find yourself drowning in money very fast; give it a minimal chance and you won't ever find those said guns. There's practically no happy medium (at least with the current build of X-ray engine), unfortunately.
But hey, it's a personal preference and I understand you.

Where are you seeing Russian in cooking? When using the stove?
v1ld, could you also take a look at the Sakharov's dialogue lines?
I think he charges for the wrong amount of money if you order the Psi-helmet. It's supposed to be 25k for the uncalibrated one and 40k for the good one, but the dialogue mentions way lower prices.

I cannot seem to kill it. Must have emptied three clips of the AK74 inside the animal, he always kills me.
I hate chimeras they appear even during daytime WTF...anyways you remember that tip from misery?

I got to kill the Chim in Red forest, but I was left with very little life in me. Died two steps further when a Bloodsucker thought I was easy prey.
Turns out, I was.........
I just can't find an easy way through the red Forest. Been trying for weeks to get to the camp on the north side of the map. It's either the (dirt)walls on the map or the mutants that keep me from finding the camp. The teleporter does not work, that does not help either. Sigh......
Oh, wait,......it's misery :-)

You can use the english files from the mod for normal Call of Chernobyl and paste them into the Call of Misery folder (gamedata/configs/text/eng/st_items_weapons.ltx). But all the Misery weapons and ammo will have no descriptions, only AO3 descriptions will work. Nobody has merged this yet, all of the stuff for CoM is in russian.

Actually there might be an AO3 mod for the actual Misery mod. Taking the st_items_weapons.ltx from that mod might also include the english translations for the misery weapons and ammo. I've not checked myself, just a thought.
It seems there is a problem with the Jupiter map, whatever I do it crashes to desktop. Hard saves don't work there, I can't exit the map and if I quicksave the game crashes. Also the game crashes when I talk to NPC's. This only happens on this map.

And when the game Quicksave crashes. Exits from the location doesn't work and in console start spamming red runtime errors.
I have the same problem in Jupiter, but only the random crashes (quicksaves, talk to NPC's) I can travel to zaton and red forest, did you find any solution?
Nope. I avoid it and every mission that leads me there. I hope that someone will fix it.

It's for taking off weapon scopes. The Misery devs got a hard on for not being able to just use the standard system the game uses and decided it needed a special tool to take the scopes off. Not to put them on though, only off. And it has to be in the primary gun slot.
DYDEAD is not exactly correct.
It's from STCoP, which doesn't have a translation yet.
The script in this tool is needed to change models, because every weapon combination with some scope is a new model.
I don't think AO has it; it can do the same thing through clicking on the weapon mounted with scope without need of an additional tool.
Yeah, core CoM doesn't need it since CoC 1.4 added support for doing this properly through right click menus and icon layers. So STCoP for CoC 1.4 and later don't need such a tool. I assume the STCoP merge is using the original STCoP as base and not the version for CoC 1.4.
Does this mean I could install the STCop weapon pack ported for CoC 1.4 on CoM?
No.
You'd need to wait for Tim Matavzh (author of STCoP port) to port 2.9 STCoP on CoM.
