I like the simplicity, but I do wish you kept the fancy names for the difficulties. My suggestion would be:
-Marine Recruit
-Marine Grunt
-Marine Veteran
-Doom Marine
That sounds great.
He wants it as nostalgic and original as possible. And I am on his side with that because brutal doom makes it so much. And for older players, this will be wonderful.
It is possible to remove "Brutal Deathmatch" from the episode selection? it's kinda annoying the way it shows on every single wad, yet it works in none of them.
