A powerful crossbow capable of penetrating enemies! Slot 9, sometimes spawns instead of the rocket launcher.
While it's not a big, bulky gun, but just a wooden crossbow, it is still able to deliver some serious damage to your foes! Occupies slot 9 because I didn't really know where to put it.
Once you let it loose, it fires 3 magic projectiles that pass through enemies and dissapear once they hit a wall. They'll just keep flying until they hit a really big enemy or something solid! It requires soul ammo to use and uses 20 per shot.
It has a chance to replace the Rocket Launcher's spawn.
To get it immediately if you're impatient, type summon/give AncientCrossbow/AncientCrossbowSpawner .

Added the explosive firemode! Press the dual wielding/weapon special button to change between three, penetrating arrows and a single, slower but explosive arrow!
The crossbow now also consumes slightly more ammo per shot.

Kinda wish the alt fire or special action allowed you to go into precision mode (less penetration, more damage and higher magnification) but hey, it's still dope to go demon hunting with a crossbow.
Y'know, I can either do full penetration or no penetration at all. I don't really know how to do something with limited penetration... Also people have requested an alt fire of an explosive arrow, might do just that.

Your Brutal Doom doesn't seem to be... well, Brutal Doom. First, make sure you're using vanilla and then try loading only BD and that crossbow (First load Brutal Doom, then the weapon). If it works then you can start experimenting with other addons.
Yep, you're most likely loading the crossbow *before* brutal doom.
I have already tried putting the crossbow without all the other mods, but I have a version without vanilla, thanks for the clarification, it would be great if they released a crossbow for the stock brutal doom v21
Great weapon for all around crowd control as well as taking apart larger foes, it's especially satisfying gibbing a demon with the initial explosive shot then watching it explode, the crossbow using souls is a nice touch as well.
The Hereticesque design makes it look like it was forged in hell, it's nice to see addons like this.
Unfortunately it doesn't load with the Devastator as it's either one or the other.
Yeah, I'll have to make a patch for it eventually.

I'm not sure if this is intended or not, but when you kill an enemy with it the bolt hovers in the air where they died for a sec and then blows. It seems like a bug so I wanted to bring it up

What mod are you trying to load it with?
If it's PB, I will not help you. That addon is for Brutal Doom, someone else made a patch for it to work with PB.

Just wondering where you get soul ammo for the crossbow from. Which enemies drop it?
Amazing weapon. So fun to use. Would totally download an updated version of it. Maybe add single projectile with less ammo consumption :) (altfire)
