A Dark Angels' transport ship dropped out of warp space a mere two days travel from the colony, speeding to reinforce the meagre troops of the Corinthean Planetary Defence Force. As the VENGEFUL BLADE's vast engines powered it towards the outpost, time-space reality was brutaly torn as another much larger ship dropped out of the warp. It was a space hulk, a monstrosity some fifty kilometers long and half as wide - an immense conglomeration of alien ships. The VENGEFUL BLADE interrupted its course to properly assess the situation. As feared, scans confirmed the space hulk to contain swarms of Genestealers.Captain Barakiel considered which was the greater threat, this newly discovered space hulk, dubbed BRINGER OF SORROW, or the imminent invasion of the vengeful Tyranids? It would take at least a day to destroy the space hulk as the VENGEFUL BLADE was built for speed rather than strength. To smash that hulk would require a dedicated battleship which could take weeks to arrive, by which time the hulk might disappear back into warp space. Then, the Techmarines under Barakiel's command reported that there might be another way of demolishing the BRINGER OF SORROW. The preliminary scans had also located a massive reactor, the remnant of some ancient alien starship of huge size. If it could be made to overload, the resultant explosion would pulverize the hulk. More information needed to be gathered first, but if the Dark Angels acted swiftly they would be able to destroy the hulk within a matter of hours..
