Replaces the default GUI with a semi-transparent black bevel GUI. It raises situational awareness, so I guess it's a TACTICAL GUI.

I really like how the new music pairs with this animated background, but I don't like how the background loops. Not much I can do about that without making the video much larger in file-size, though.
UPDATE v1.2:
- Added a main menu theme (Pumping Station / Ruined World) - you can preview the background and music files in your media player before you install!
- Added an optional to disable menu music
- Changed the "Press a key to continue" text and moved it to a more visible place.
- Moved system messages like save notifications to the top of the screen
- Moved some notifications entirely off-screen, mainly item-use notifications and gun jammed
- Moved the "Lost to the Zone" and the "Press x to return to the main menu" text off-screen
- Placed the progress bar variations into individual gamedata folders
- Merged gratitude into the GUI
So in summary, new bleak and haunting main menu background and music (or silence), less unnecessary information on screen, and you get to see the scene of your death in full detail.

The menu background is animated. It's an old one, but I like it.

I'm not gonna lie, I kinda want to make a bunch of Zone demotivational posters as loading screens. Something about the layout, you know?

Here's that item highlighting.

I feel like a fool for not adopting this sooner. I saw that one pic of the intro screen and thought "I don't like that black and red splash design, it's too messy" and wrote off the rest of the mod. I didn't realize that the start menu screen was ANIMATED AND LOOKS RAD AS HELL.
The rest of the mod is great too, just saying. The one part I was worried about turned out to be the best part of the mod.
Haha, I kind of love that you passed on the whole mod just because you didn't like the screen you see the least. Another lesson learned about not judging books by their covers!
...because their covers may be animated you see
How do i install the progress bar variations? And how do i remove the music?
The music is in \gamedata\sounds\music, the file is menu.ogg.
To silence it, first delete that file, then copy no_sound.ogg from \gamedata\sounds\ into that folder, and rename it to menu.ogg.
I'll make an optional preset to not have menu music in a future update.
EDIT: updated addon.
These go in gamedata\textures\ui
Rename ui_actor_loadgame_screen.dds to ui_actor_loadgame_screen-backup.dds
Drop one of these files into gamedata\textures\ui
Rename that file to ui_actor_loadgame_screen.dds
Profit
Thanks, buddy. Good boy! Up for promotion! :D
