You don't have to? You can just type "renagades" / "greh" / "isg" in the new game menu to unlock them temporarily.
Oh, well, I just feel stupid now
how do you join Sin or Unisg or even Renegades in standard Anomaly playthrough playing as a loner for instance?
You can't, the only way to play as those factions is to start as them after unlocking them by completing the three storylines.
