A fully featured slot based weapon wheel for Project Brutality; Notes: It ONLY works for Project Brutality, It does NOT work in Classic V20 mode, I will NOT make a v20 version EVER, To bring up the wheel, bind it in controls, at the bottom of customize controls, To close the wheel, strafe left/right or click outside the wheel. I never liked weapon wheels, at least not on PC.
Does it slow down time? Can I also use it with saegiru's HUD as well? I have used a weapon wheel in Resistance: Fall of Man where the game stopped completely as I changed weapons.

Nice mod, i've been searching for a Doom weapons wheel for some time now.
To anyone wondering this weapon wheel does NOT slows down time, it STOPS time while you click with your cursor in one of the weapons slots, to see more weapons in the same slot, simply click the same slot again.
Bugs:
Weapons slot 4 is bugged, its stops after showing UAC 41 i think..
While using the scope (zoom) in the rail gun, i tried to use weapon wheel and the cursor was really slow.
The weapon wheel stops the game but does NOT stop the map time.
Notes:
It would be better if the wheel slowed down time, it would be like GTA V or the new DOOM.
Instead of clicking in the slot, why not move the mouse while an pointer moved following the circle to select the slot... like GTA V with the mouse.
The point of weapon wheel is to make things faster, this mod does NOT do this... but i believe that with some improvement this model can be so much better!

EDIT: What weapons did you have when you experienced this bug? It does matter!
Actually i used "give all", didn't had much time to REALLY play and get the weapons normally.
EDIT: Can you make a version that you press the same button to open and the same button to close it?? It just seems a lot easier.
to make it GTA like, just have it look like the wheel, and add arrows on each side of a weapon slot to switch whatever weapon of class you want and there ya go! C:
There's a way I've been thinking about making it like GTA V, when I get back from vacation we'll take a crack at it
So you use the mouse pointer to change your weapons, interesting. This will make weapon switching and stratigizing much easier considering how many weapons PB has.
Is there a chance in the future you will be able to select the weapon modes to or would that be too much?

NVM, just found out you can switch fire modes and pre-spin/rev machineguns to. I did notice one thing though in the options, it doesn't list the mouse wheel up and down as an input even though it lets you assign them *not really a big deal*.
You guys are amazing, PB needed this badly and was implemented extremely well considering the short amount of time worked on it.

The same thing happens with certain controller buttons. Using a 360 pad, it doesn't say Right oer Left trigger (and maybe some others) are assigned, even though they are. Probably wrong place to post this, since that is a Project Brutality issue, but whatevs.
Well I thought it rev'd up machine gun to but I guess not. Also found a bug with the duel wielding supershotties. Every time you switch off of them you fire a round off but I am guessing this is a V20 bug causing this.

Is it possible to assign weapons to the numbers?
Apart from the pause, the wheel isn't as useful as first thought without the ability to assign favorite weapon to a number,instead of cycling through them every time the wheel is brought up.
Also if the mod allows for clicking on pictures,why not remove the wheel and just have every weapon of the game organised as tiles, just a thought.
Eventually we'll figure out how to do this. This was more of an experiment if anything and we decided to let people try it out.
I've been thinking: assign each weapon class to vanilla numbers, but only when you hold that number. For example, if you hold 3, wheel with all selections of shotguns would come up, 4 with all selections of rifles/miniguns etc. but if you just press 3 then you simply switch to first shotgun on list.
Also slow time, instead of stop time would be great, cause right now it breaks immersion, and also pauses music :/
I was kinda thinking it would be nice if all the numbers were packed more closer together and in the middle of the screen so you could get to your selections more quickly.

running a **** load of weapons and scrolling through them all is a nightmare.
is this compatible with a controller?

It Works with a controller, and IMO the weapon wheel is a great idea, but it could use some improvements. I think instead of having a mouse cursor that you tediously have to move and click the number with, if you made it more like the new DooM or GTA V's weapon wheel where all you have to do is move the mouse or the icon in the direction of the number you want for it to highlight it could save time and really improve the wheel. SLowing down time instead of freezing is a good idea too, but i'd rather see the other improvements instead if possible
I play doom with my ps3 controller(Console player)so this will help out a lot.
Glad to hear it. I just started playing Doom again for the first time in a decade, discovered Brutal Doom and found Project Brutality to be more controller friendly (double tap to dodge). This is exactly the next mod I was looking for.
I might even try to improve it a little for controller users if I learn about Doom molding.

Not really. I really liked this mod but it was a bit awkward to use with a controller. I would have liked to just tweak this version, but I didn't have the ACS source, so I just wound up making my own version Moddb.com (With slow time too.)

hi, is there any chance this thing gets an update? i really like this thing, the time stop feature has saved me a couple of times, but would be nice to fix the current issues, slot 4 is disabled when using give all, performance drops when used with slydoyle's flashlight in PSX doom, and numbers could be replaced with weapon icons
Might update it but right now I'm currently busy working on my own standalone game. Don't have a ton of time for side projects such as this.

Could be nice to keep the music going when you use it, aslo..you can kick and use the knife and kill while the time its stoped.
hi man thank you for updating this, slot 4 works normally when using give all, but flshlight bug is still present, i tried several flashlights and thay all caused tha same issue, at first you can move cursor with decreased speed but the more you move the cursor the slower it gets, if you exit the wheel and activate it once again without flashlight everything works great if you use flashlight the bug occurs
and this is a personal request, the thing is that i always use saegiru's pipebombs from uac survival pack (great addon) with brutal doom, they are on slot 0 but can't select them with the this becuase i assume the code isn't made to recognize them, so could you add support for that
this is a visual upgrade request, when i got inside the file with slade i saw weapon icons that could be used instead of numbers, so i believe you should change the numbers for these icons and increase the font telling the category you have the cursor on, another nice touch will be to highlight the slot with selected weapon when you use wheel.
here is an optional major change, sometimes i use hxrtc hud which has an icon for time sphere, while using this hud i notice that when you activate the wheel, that icon is highligthed and duration stands still in one bar, so i was thinking you could make activation use full bar but consume it over time with same duration as a time sphere and once the whole bar is consumed wheel automatically is deactivated, another idea i had was to make wheel spin with mousewheel
and this is a doubt, i used give all and then activate the wheel i selected pistol and tried to activate silencer but i got a message saying you have already gotten this, so what right click deos exactly with wheel on?
