This is the full version of the mod: a complete heavy metal experience.
Rock on with melodic shred-guitar and powerful riffs as you blast
Strogg legions into the stratosphere.
HOW TO USE THE MOD
SFX part (stereo FX supported engine/port required!):
1) Extract archive.
2) Rename the file Q2HM.pak into pak9.pak and place it into the 'baseq2' directory,
which is inside your Quake II folder. That's it. You're all set for the SFX part of
the mod.
If so happens, that you already have a pak9.pak inside your 'baseq2' folder - then use any
other number between 9 and 99 - but it has to be higher than whatever you have inside 'baseq2'.
If you're playing Ground Zero or The Reckoning mission packs - then you need to copy this file into baseq2\xatrix and baseq2\rogue directories as well. Otherwise, mission pack's new weapon sounds will not work.
FOR THE MUSIC PART (ogg format music support required):
1) After extracting the archive, you will see a folder called "music". Copy it to your baseq2 folder
inside your Quake II directory. The final directory structure should be as follows: baseq2\music
2) Play the game. Everything else is already set up by the engine and the tracks.
Enjoy the game!
Not working on Q2XP mod on OpenAL sound device. Music works fine though. Any idea how to set it up?
My friend, the first line in the mod description (and in the readme.txt) says that the mod requires 44khz stereo sound supported engine/port to operate. The solution is easy: switch to a more technologically versatile port. No other way. Just like the description says - the mod has been tested and confirmed to work with Quake II patch 3.24, Ultimate Quake II patch, and KM Quake II. So, you need to use one of them.
Q2XP, Quake2MAX, UQE, ArqLite2 and Retail QII v3.20 - you'll have to ditch those.
Please forgive my technical incompetence, but is there a way to get this to work with quake 2 RTX?
I only heard rumors about that version, moreover i am not sure if Quake II RTX is a Quake II at all, in terms of file operation.
So i can't provide any viable information regarding that.
But, if it does function like a regular Quake II - then it all
depends whether that RTX port can support Q2HM features.
(44khz stereo sound and OGG playback)
So awesome!!!!
Wonderfull !!!! ... thanks friend
Glad to hear you're enjoying it so much!
I am planning to upgrade the mod with some extras,
later this year. For now - Hexen mods demand too much time.
Rock on!
