1 Introduction
UW2 Complementary Editor is a level editor for Ultima Underworld 2 that's
designed to be a complement to the already existing UW2 Map editor
(http://bearcity.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/).

2 Creating new levels
First open (with UW2CED) the LEV.ARK that's in the /DATA folder and choose an
unused level and save it (the file should be backuped first).
(UW2ED must be restarted before this level will appear in the list).
Then the level can be created in a savegame LEV.ARK.
(To use UW2ED on a savegame there must be a copy of STRINGS.PAK in a subfolder
named DATA).
To teleport to the new level, the teleport trap should have value:
Level = Levelnr + 1.
3 Objects
Note that objects needs a physical location either on the map or
contained by another object, otherwise there will be a "Problems
in object list" error (see below).
3.1 Triggers/Traps
Note that triggers can't contain a trap, so the trap must exist
somwhere else.
To create a Trap with a trigger then first create an object (for
example on a solid wall) and change it into a trap.
Then create the trigger somewhere on the map and set the "quantity" field of
the trigger to the "object nr" of the trap.
Info on some traps:
- Set Variable Trap/Check Variable Trap:
The "Mode" value is the same as X-POS. (Seems to have some effect).
- SpellTrap
Setting Value 1 to 14 will start a cutscene specified in value 2.
- Special Effects Trap
Value: 4=Earthquake
- Hack Trap
Setting Value 1 to 44 will make the player go to sleep.
3.2 Mobile Extra Info
- NPC_Goal
Setting this to 0 will make the object stand still.
Setting this to 12 will make the conversation autostart when the
player gets near the object.
3.3 Problems in object list
This error occurs when the player leaves a level, either by a teleport
trap or by saving the game.
The "Check Object List" feature can be used to check for the most
common causes, which are:
- Bad links
- Object has no physical location
- Triggers not contained by another object must have the quantity flag
set?
- Objects existing in more than one place
Note that not all reported errors causes a problem in the game.
