Feel like there's not enough ammo for the finale of Episode 3 in TH: Relit? Thought that maybe there's a weapon you're missing for that special sauce? This minuscule addon might be able to help.
The final boss of They Hunger 3 is kinda famous for being a bit of a bullet sponge. A somewhat doable fight on Medium, but pretty much demands the player know in advance what they're getting into on Hard. Have to use as few ammo as possible from the moment of their capture in the asylum.
Now, for some folks already familiar with HL1 but not the other bit, picking Hard might be a perfectly fine choice up until this moment. Kind of a bummer to be softlocked by the very last bit because of Sierra-esque shenaniganery. Relit somewhat mends the problem by making most of the weapons a pinch more powerful than their vanilla counterpart, however, it dropped the ball a bit for this particular map.
You're supposed to get a few more ammo packs compared to the release version. 2 .303 boxes along with another sniper ammo box. It seems that for whatever reason, these ammo pickups sink into the ground in Relit, a difficult conundrum when the final boss is as tanky as it is. Tried mending it by editing the entity from Relit's maps, but BSPEdit seems to disagree with how the entity list is set up, so I had to edit the original map itself.
It does mean that you won't be getting the fancy lighting changes that Relit brings to the table, but at the same time, beats not having to know in advance that you have to bring a wheelbarrow's worth of ammo, hmm? To sweeten the pot, also added in a weapon that doesn't normally show up in regular play. A Bazooka. If all the extra ammo and the 'Zook doesn't solve the final boss issue on Hard, I dunno what will.
Note that I haven't tested to see if achievements and all that stuff still works with this particular version of the map. Tried to copy most of the entities from the new maps over, but there's always the possibility of me mucking it up somewhere. Make backups if necessary.
Installation:
It's all fairly simple, just drop the folder in your HL installation as you would the original mod. Make backups if needed, and then overwrite the file. Note that the changes won't work if you're already in the map, so keep a save handy from the previous map if you're suffering from said issue.
