A quick look into the making of a gesture
So it's been about a week since the release of Water and so far we have been pretty happy with the reactions. Last Saturday Podcast 17 interviewed Tero, Henri, and Dennis. The episode is now available for listen:
I also made a short developer video showing quickly how I make gestures for the dialogue scenes in Water. As a bonus, I added subtitles for the video. You might hope the interview would have subtitles as well, but sadly you are out of luck. Stay tuned next week when we will release a bit more in-depth info about how Water was made.
Check out last week's news post for the release trailer and more media. If you haven't yet played Water, you can download the installer, or use Desura, or unpack the .zip file to SourceMods so that the mod folder is called "water". You will have to have Source SDK Base 2007 installed on your Steam account. You can install Source SDK Base 2007 by accessing the Tools section in your Games Library. You need to have a Source engine game like Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, or Portal to have Source SDK Base 2007 available.
Additionally if the version of Water you downloaded is 1.0.2 or lower, download the 1.0.3 Patch. The current installer is 1.0.3. If you have any problems with installing the patch, or anything else, go to the Water Bugs & Problems page.
love the movie above, where is shown how the animations are made. great video, it does look so easy. but ofcourse will it take at least a few months to learn this. it has always been a big wish of mine to learn this one day, hopefully that day will soon come. till now i am to busy with finishing my latest mod as a (sp-) mapper.

have to be honest, i am more a fpshooter (sp-) gamer. but still tried your mod, and it has a high quality, its nearly a TC!
