There are some very minor bugs currently, but I've spent hours playing Radium in 64-bit now and have had a very pleasant experience.
I'm hoping to spread the word so other mod authors can use the repository too.
Im-dex is the author, and his repository can be found here.
He has been doing this work almost entirely alone, and I feel it's only right to ask if you are a mod author that can gain from this, or if you simply wish for him to continue his work, feel free to donate to him.
His paypal is Paypal.me
or via Yandex Money: Money.yandex.ru
So, how does Radium run in 64-bit? Smooth as butter. Depending on whether you enable or disable prefetching it can take up between 3-5gb of RAM (sorry those with only 4gb, there will still be a 32-bit version most likely).
I am also happy to report that I am working with a member of the Lost Alpha team to share our secret sauces, find new ways to make both our mods shine visually, and in other ways.
In terms of progress on Radium, I've restored a great deal of content that ddraig had made for us, and it all is working well. That said, if you're an LUA scripter, we could use you for a few minor things.
Oh, yes!
Guys, please support developers. I'm developer myself and I know how much it takes to deliver quality content :)
I WILL!!!
The moment I will have money to support the developers, I swear I will donate, don't you worry!
Momentous!
Awesome news.
Nice work, dude. :D
Goodbye out of memory crashes. Finally Stalker can make use of my 16gb RAM.
Welcome "your PC can not handle this game crash" xD
This is really, really good for the future of Stalker modding. Big thanks!
OMG, Awesome job!!!
Great news!
Well, to have some bigger maps, we'll need 64bit SDK and compilers too. ^_^
And then have maps you probably won't be able to play on a 32bit system.
I know for sure Levels have polygons, wallmarks limitations.
CoC 1.5 Pripyat Outskirt is already to its LE wallmarks limits (500 wallmarks), for instance.
Good job !
Good job! This what everyone have waited for!
If the x64 bit of COP is out... Then where is the link? Where is the github?
This affect many modders. If there is a x64bit engine out, then I personally wouldn't make a mod for an older 32bit version of the game...
Very nice!
Will the whole mod community start using the x64 version?
