What is Overwatch?
Overwatch is a cooperative multiplayer FPS/RTS hybrid powered by the Source engine and based on the Half-Life 2 universe. It pits a team of rebels playing cooperatively in first-person (the Resistance) against one player who assumes the role of commander to the Combine forces (the Overwatch), controlling units and the environment around them from a bird's-eye view.

First Public Release
Following a closed release and three mini-updates, we are extremely proud to make our v1.1.0 update available to the general public. The ideas and feedback we have been receiving over the past month have been truly invaluable, and we hope that more of you will choose to join our community and share your thoughts with us!
v1.1.0 is still to be considered a very early release. Work on Overwatch only began a bit over a year ago, and we still have a ton more to add to it! If you would like to keep track of our progress, head over to our blog and read our Development Reports.
Updater Utility
As we are committed to releasing frequent updates for Overwatch, we have been working hard to put together an Updater utility which will help you, the player, download and install patches with only the click of a button.
When you launch Overwatch, a small panel at the top-right will let you know if an update is available. You can then click on Update Now, which will close the game, run the Updater then relaunch the game, all in only a few minutes. The Updater can also be used to validate files and replace files that you may have deleted in error.
In addition to improving the game, we will be working to improve the Updater itself, so if you encounter any issues with it, please let us know!

What's Next?
We have put some time aside next week to keep track of bug reports and respond quickly should any major issues arise. We have a first patch (v1.1.1) scheduled for release next week, and we have already begun working on the next update (v1.2.0), scheduled for a week or two after that.

zombie master was fun! (i have it but i haven't played in a long time.. i thing there aren't so much players anymore)
For me it is more fun to realise that youre not playing against AI, but against a human controller.

Right, they've mentioned before that Overwatch was inspired by Zombie Master. Though they wanted to stick with the HL2 world and characters.

THat's lots od fev textures, and are the special attacks (gunships dropships pods and manhacks) always area based? I could see being able to drop pods in wherever you want (maybe in certain predefined areas) would make for a pretty cool gameplay feature.

Yep, we're aiming to allow the GM to spawn/drop certain units in pre-defined areas instead of only single spots, allowing you more flexibility.
theres a bug that says i am log in elsewhere and i cant join a game
Try logging out of garrysmod.org, it makes this bug disappear.
If don't, change the password of your account and restart your pc.

This happen if the hl2.exe process is still running. Open your Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL), find "hl2.exe" and hit END PROCESS.
Then launch Overwatch again and you're good to go!
There needs to be something like a 50 man limit of Combine 'cos it seems the ultimate tactic is to pick one objective and then just spam it.
Also the Combine need to be less accurate, have less health but have better AI.
Iron Grip minus the custom textures and models?
Hahaha.
Yes, in that Iron Grip overlord was more a combination of FPS and tower defense, not FPS and strategy, and is really not similar at all to this mod.
Having said that, this mod isn't really original even if it doesn't rip off Iron Grip: Warlord. Hopefully the idea is implemented well.
AWESOME mod!
Can't play it; "You are logged into steam from another location. Please login again". Keep getting that. Ended HL2.exe, like stated above, restarted the game, restarted steam, restarted my PC - still not working. Any other ideas for a fix AndY?
Did you try logging out of Steam from the menu, then logging back in manually with your user and pass?

Great mod, this is. I played a few rounds, but sometimes the OW view gets stuck in the skybox, making the match basically unwinnable.
Also, I was interested in making a head-on tutorial for all the new OW's here. Want me to make one?
We're rolling out a server-side update to fix that in the next hour or two.

Great, but not perfect.
When I checked out your video I thought that I would be seeing some awesome stuff in breach, but once I reached the inside, I was greated with texture-less blocks. I was somewhat disapointed on that...
But the rest of the game made up for it very, very well. There's nothing like spawning an *** load of SMG Soldiers and setting them up for an ambush.
Being a Rebel in breach reminded me WAY to much of Stalingrad; then started to get me thinking on a Stalingrad map for this game. It'd work out well, since HL2 apparently takes place in Russia. Like a Pavlov's House map, or even a 'Taking The Hill' mission from Call of Duty Finest Hour, Rebels assaulting, of course...
Gah, I'm rambeling... This is one of the greatest mods I've played in a long time, but could use some work. 8/10.

As long as you own one of these games ( Store.steampowered.com ), you can play the mod.
